you guys will never give golovkin an ounce of credit, no matter who he beats. you'll just invent ways to deride any victory over a big name. if he ko'd ward tomorrow, you'd say ward was rusty.

 

I most certainly would not ....in fact I'd think he was the real deal and give him props ....major props......I don't hate ggg....I like him .....but his fans are sounding like mannys fans more and more everyday ....and mannys "fans" are the most annoying twas on earth .......they are very similar and I might suspect they are the same people

Bit trust me.....ggg beat ing cotto would prove and mean nothing to me......nothing more than just a name on his resume.....and I still fancy cotto a very good fighter

GGG was 170 for Monroe.
Canelo was 172 vs Kirkland

Ward well in excess of 185 vs Rodriguez and noticeably larger than the 186lb Smith.

Kovalev was 186 vs Hopkins.

So who should be fighting guys his own size.

Fact. Canelo had not FIGHT at LMW for 2+yrs.
Fact. Cotto had not fought at LMW since 2013.
Ok. Let's say GGG is this monster you make him out to be.

K2 offered ward a fight at 168 in 2013.
Ward chose Erod from GGGs Monte Carlo undercard.

K2 offered ward a fight at 164, & Roc said they're not prepared yet to make that fight.

K2 also conceded, "it's just a starting point".

If Hopkins indeed can make 160 with ease as is being claimed. Much more big money in a fight with Cotto or Canelo. I don't understand this logic of not giving fighters credit when they fight dangerous fighters, especially at 50 years old.

Love or hate him, GGG is a dangerous fight for anyone at 154-168. I'd give Floyd of ton of credit to make that fight, and that is the best, most challenging fight that could be made for Floyd... And that's exactly why he won't take that fight.

I'll maybe concede Froch being a bigger win than Dawson... Dawson was a catch weight fight though... Don't bag on GGG for asking for a catch weight when I'm guessing you didn't have a problem with it when Ward fought Dawson. 👍

I think you'd be totally justified in saying Ward needs GGG more than GGG needs Ward.

 

Why? Ward already has a HoF career....and resume......he could keep fighting on BET and a viewership of 300K and still make as much, if not more , than ggg is now....

Who cares who made more there last fight, Ward's promoter lost BIG and unless he fights people who are challenges you better believe he won't be making 2 million his next fight, while GGG hasn't been in the public eye as long as Ward, and is pulling in a million more viewers than Ward for a fight with Monroe Jr.

Ali called himself the greatest ever yet he fought Alferedo Evans who was coming off a loss, and Richard Dunn who was was ko-ed 3 times in a row. This was when he was 35, Floyd is nearly 40, and he's just fought the #2 p4p. Do I want this fight? No, but if you're going to cry about teh fact he said TBE, over and over again, this is your onyl argument it seems then look at the guy you compared him to. According to your standards, what he's doing is fine.
Wlad fought Leapai ffs, that's a 10x worse opponent than berto.

 

Ward made 2 million his last fight, while GGG made 1.5 million... Those are the only available numbers I could find. You can look at it as a positive for Ward as he made more money, or I can say GGG has more than does his purses just in his last few fights and that will only continue to go up. Ward is also more well known and been fighting longer, at a higher weight class, so making more shouldn't be that much of a surprise. No to mention Ward's fight was on BET, meaning it was available to a much wider audience... And yet still did terrible in viewership.

I just don't understand the hate for GGG, he was 345-5 in the amateurs. He fights often and no big name wants to fight him. If that's not acceptable to you then I really don't know what to say.
