There's a distinct possibility that Golovkin will never fight Canelo or Ward and that he'll coast to retiring undefeated with a record of something like 45-0. Surely this will be tainted by the fact though that he never face an ATG or a Hall of Famer or even a fighter who is close to being considered one of the best of their era.

If he retires at 50-0-0-0 reigning Undisputed champion, he is the GOAT of 160 :smoke

Kostya Tszyu is the best example to use here. GGG is just like Kostya when better fighters were available to fight one weight class up he chose to stay in a weak division and is rated accordingly for doing so. He left a lot of questions about him and if GGG doesn't get with it he'll end up the same way. HOF fighter but not a true ATG.:deal

Triple G needs to clear up 160. If that means bigger names won't fight there then that's nothing to hold against him.

Most great MW champs made their name off the back of unheralded MW contenders and great WW fighters.

The problem is there are no good fighters at 160 and Canelo isn't fighting him there so forget about that. He will have a resume full of C fighters but will have no one to blame but himself his legacy will be questioned as to why he didn't move up and why he stayed in a dead division and not challenge himself.

I think Saunders can be classed as good and some of the prospects may turn out to be.

I agree though, there isn't a 'great' in or on the horizon of the division. Just a mixture of decent and good fighters.

Being unbeaten means nothing its about who you beat and what you accomplish.
Beating up scrubs and guys who noone thinks of is not the way to greatness.

ya these guys are funny acie...they've had greatness in front of them for years and downplayed it, nitpicked it and called it garbage

then you put someone in front of them who genuinely deserves that and they call him great....go figure

Degale for starters would be a great fight for GGG to take at 168 but he won't do it because he rather feast on C level guys like Wade and idiots like you accept it.
