If GGG retire with undefeated with no trademark win can he still be called ATG?

Saunders is very good, but wouldn't be a trademark win, which is what all fighters need to be considered an ATG...and GGG doesn't have one yet.

how great your are after you retire is based on who you beat and in what manner you beat them.

Having a loss or a 0 has no bearing on that.

 

I think the Fury rematch is Wlad's only chance to seal his legacy as a top10 ATG heavyweight. In fact, if he wins the rematch, the defeat in the first fight might be the best thing that's happened to him during his career, legacy-wise.

 

Wlad comes back to beat Fury then he retires. Fury goes on to beat Wilder, Parker, Prime Joshua, and Povektin.

That depends on how Fury's career pans out. Is he Joe Frazier or just Leon Spinks?

 

Looks like MW division should be improving soon. If he can consistently get fights with guys ranked in the top 10, and proceeds to smash them to bits, then yeah, just about in the lower reaches. It's a real shame no potential ATG match ups on the horizon. But at his age and with the extent to which he's avoided, he'll do very well just to get HoF.

no. greatness is measured by great accomplishments and being tested against great opposition. how is greatness shown when every opponent does not give a great or greater threat of defeat. if his division does not have willing great opposition then he must rise to higher weights where the threat is.
