If GGG won the first fight on the cards would you have wanted to see a rematch?

Yes, I'd still want to see the rematch because I like rematches. I like it when two of the best guys at a weight meet several times in era defining fights. I would rather see great fighters fight each other over and over than fight lesser competition. Pac vs Marquez and Barrera vs Morales is what you get that way. I just wish the rubber match happened sooner so that Golovkin wouldn't have declined so much between fights.

A draw... 7-5 either way was a good scorecard.

what happens when that style preference of the fighter you want to give rounds to, is getting outboxed? You still sway rounds for coming forward rather than score the fight for the person who's boxing and landing the cleaner punches?

I wouldn't mind it, but I'd rather see Saunders etc. get shots.

Yes, of course. It was a good, competitive fight, and you felt both men had the ability to do more.

I don't think he was outboxed. I gave Canelo 4 rounds in which I think he did enough to win. Winning off the back foot requires you to clearly win more exchanges than your opponent. I think that's fair as the aggressor is taking a lot more risk and if everyone fought otherwise we may as well go and watch fencing for all the entertainment boxing would be.

This also seems to have been the attitude of the majority of Mexican fans pre GGG Canelo.

The biggest money fight in boxing, one of the best matchups, produced a fight that was razor close. Of course that description would deserve a rematch no matter what the decision was.

If the aggressor isn't winning the exchanges but is coming forward while the opponent is on the backfoot scoring the cleaner shots who do.you score it for? The aggressor? And if so would that be because you prefer the aggressor over the "runner," because you despise that style of boxing?

No I've scored Mayweather fights for him by a landslide. What I'm saying is that Canelo did not clearly win the exchanges on the backfoot. If he had then I would of scored the rounds for him. That style has to be clearly more successful to get the nod and he wasn't anywhere nearly enough.

I'm also of the belief that if the roles were reversed and each fighter threw and landed the exact same punches in the exact same fight Canelo gets given a wide decision without any controversy from anyone but the most ardent GGG fanboys.
