a co-worker and I were discussing this today. If he wins, does he get in. We looked at his record and he should have at least 6-7 decisions that did not go his way.

What does everyone think? Even if he doesn't win, does he get in still?

If Glen Johnson gets in, it means the HOF has reached an all time low in its standards.

I agree with you. But Gatti will get in, based on popularity and his wars. His untimely death also pretty much assures him getting in. In reality though, Arturo was a lesser version of Ray Mancini, and Ray has yet to get in. Shame cause Ray was a much better fighter than Gatti, and JUST as exciting.

Gatti was an exciting fighter, but I would not put him in the HOF.

Glen Johnson is borderline. I really like him as a fighter, but I think he falls just short. But he is better than at least a few of the boxers that are already in the HOF.

Johnson and Woods are not comparable in terms of potential HOF status.

    Nope.

There's literally no argument for including Johnson that doesn't include adding 50 other guys who aren't currently enshrined. That's no knock on Johnson, he's just not that level of fighter and never has been.

But they are comparable in terms of quality.

Eddie Mustafa Muhammed, Marvin Johnson, and Yauqi Lopez arent in the HOF. And those guys were FAAAR better light heavys than "The Road Journeyman" and woulda handed Glen his ass on a plate. Charles Williams also was a helluva lot better than Glen.

Glen Johnson is no better than Dennis Andries. I bet you Andries coulda beaten a shot Roy Jones also.

McGugian was easily better than Glen Johnson, and McGugian is overrated as hell.
