Would he have a better resume than Mayweather?

I'm not familar with the last fighter you named. I heard he is an old timer that only does commentary now? You might as well be asking if Golovkin should fight Marvin Hagler.

Ward would be a great win IMO. Canelo and Cotto, good wins but not great. He's much bigger than them.

Ward is the only fight that matters on that list. He beats the other 2 and so what? He beats Ward he gets respect.

Easily. Mayweather's resume post Hatton hasn't been all that impressive. In fact, it's pretty weak sauce.

The post is about Floyds whole resume not just since Hatton, and I would say no as Floyd has wins over Canelo and Cotto already and while Ward is an amazing win it doesn't over take years of beating world class fighters.

    Haha, no...

Mayweather already beat JMW versions of Canelo and Cotto. Apparently according to many emotional folks out there, those are lousy wins for a P4P fighter... They would be revolutionary wins up at MW years later, though?

Mayweather has over 20 top 10 rated opponents (the majority of which were top 5) on his resume. Golovkin, as of now, has 2 for sure and if you want to stretch it, he has beaten 4. Mayweather has beaten 20+ former belt holders. Golovkin has beaten maybe a few (Geale, Ouma, ????). Mayweather has beaten 5+ sure fire HOF'ers and another handful of fringe HOF'ers. Golovkin has never fought a fringe HOF'er.

Golovkin has never been the consensus #1 in his own division which has been in a time of historical weakness.

To think of how lousy this notion and thread is...

How would Golovkin's wins over Cotto and Canelo **** on Mayweather's wins over Cotto and Canelo? Golovkin is naturally bigger and stronger than both of them, of course he's supposed to beat them.

Im not sure if beating Ward > everything Mayweather has done in his career.

Idk... its tough. I think Ward is p4p better than anyone mayweather has fought, but one name doesnt a resume make.

And cotto, canelo, have already been beaten by May so not sure why they would matter when comparing.

And G will never beat Ward, imo

Not Cotto and Canelo it would be the equivalent of Floyd beating Garcia and Matthysse,
but Ward would put him up there.

Ward won't fight Golovkin unless it's in ward's back yard
