I'm not basing my complete opinion on p4p rankings....in fact p4p rankings can sometimes be layered subjectively based on peoples ethnocentric commitments. Again I agree drawing power and p4p supremacy are two separate and distinct barometers. Not every effective style of boxing is visually pleasing and to be honest I've been around this sport so long that I've learned to truly understand how imperative it is for fighters to absorb that if the want to be winners.

GGG success is now starting to truly touch a wide range of folks, he's active and he's knocked out his b level competition. The Brook fight is his high profile bout and I think most of the astute boxing pundits understood the hill Brook was attempting to climb there. Its natural that GGG would be selling at a higher rate, that said those folks that have turned away from the sport because of the Kovalev/Ward fight were likely never real fans and to be honest (probably a selfish comment because the more the merrier) good riddance, don't need fickle, faithless and ill informed in this sport.

 

Yet his PPV was lower? You wear your feelings on your sleeve and disguise it with humor. While I agree he's more popular, 10x is childish.

Golovkin raises his profile everytime he fights. He is like a scirocco that made it's way to N. America and is sweeping the landscape.

Saying his PPV was lower shows what an idiot you are. GGG-Brook did more in the UK alone that Mayweather-Berto did in the USA. Does that make Brook more popular than Mayweather?

Golovkin is no doubt one of the most popular fighters today, second best imo, but he isn't a super star. Ward isn't a star at all and they still did comparable numbers. And don't act like lemeuix is some nobody, he's been showcased on hbo as well.

 

No, it won't give him leverage but he will get the true respect that he deserves.

You're right, GGG is a bit more of a draw than Ward. But saying 10x is just pure garbage.

Also one can't compare GGG-Brook to FMJ-Berto as the ppv price was different!
