Nobody is crying the real fans are just sad to see the sport going to the dogs. Corruption starts at the top. No fighter from abroad can come to the US to fight the Canelos Mayweathers etc & expect to win a decision in Vegas even the rabid Ginger & Floyd fans knew it. They knew their butts were covered barring a surprise KO
How any real Boxing addict can support the corruption defeats me. Bivol comes to Vegas Fights Canelo gives him a schooling made him look like a novice but the judges scored the fight 115-113 a close fight. The thrashing was so severe even those judges wouldn't dare to score it a draw when the REAL scorecard was more like 118-110

I had Golovkin winning comfortably by four rounds in the first fight and second fight I'd edge toward GGG but wouldn't contest an Alvarez decision by a round or 2, I don't believe anyone can complain about Canelo earning a win in 2. He legit fought him toe to toe which was held against him in 1. Remember that Golovkin had been at the weight forever you have to show some appreciation that he came up to GGG's hunting ground, that takes some guts regardless of your opinion on him. But Golovkin displayed that he was far more technically savvy than we thought so its a difficult fight to score.

He would have a far better resume, I don’t necessarily think he would have gone on to have loads of tough fights, he avoided certain guys throughout his career.

He'd be remembered more fondly if nothing else.
Those losses tarnished his whole legacy.

We may have seen some cool fights like vs Charlo or Saunders and maybe even Munguia. Problem with Canelo isn't just getting robbed on the cards, its that he kept GGG hanging around like a stick of beef jerky drying out a little more every day when he could have been fighting. We would have had an extra 2-3 GGG fights if Golovkin had gotten the right verdicts.

Dude was happy being a big fish in a small pond. The division was terrible when he reigned and the best fights where at 168

He was a very good fighter, but 100% played it safe and the guy is EXTREMELY overrated on this forum

He would never have beat Ward. I wonder if he would even beat Froch, Kessler etc? Who knows?

I would have preferred those matches to geale and Murray types.

Says it all that welter brook is one of his best wins

Had Golovkin won both fights then he'd still receive plenty of (deserved) criticism.

    He might have retired earlier.
We wouldn't have seen 'dark GGG', where he stopped trying to speak English and smile and sat there looking like a communist officer with his translator.

The thing that annoys me about it is that after the first fight Golovkin knew he was likely getting robbed if it went to points, but then he boxed quite carefully in both rematches. Yes, he shouldn't have to fight riskier because of corruption, but in a way Sanchez was right, he had to basically brawl Canelo to get the win, try to take him out. And he didn't, so he gave himself no chance really.

Which is fine, but one of them wouldn't his best win was vs Jacobs. Canelo has far more status than Jacobs.

I actually thought the judges would be fair in the 2nd fight, after the first robbery and Canelo's ped scandal. A possible robbery was expected in the first, due to all the delays, marinating, and laying down of belts, if Golovkin didn't beat the crap out of him. Canelo proved he could hang with GGG thats for sure, but he didn't win.

I'm a massive GGG fan but the WBA regular title doesn't count.
