I cannot argue with your assessment, but to hear all the butthurt over the top fans crying after all the BS they talked about their heros was very satisfying.

I think for someone who likes Canelo more than Golovkin, you would get pleasure in a clear win, not a robbery. That being said, If the judges in the trilogy fight gave it to GGG, i too would get pleasure in the poetic justice. Imagine, GGG gets the final win unanimous 115-113, and new Undisputed Super Middleweight Champ of the world. My answer would be, hey GGG officially won, deal with it.

I wouldn't say I like Canelo more than Golovkin. But some of the Golovkin fans were obnoxious. It was getting out of hand. If I'm not mistaken, one fan either made a thread or wrote that Golovkin would beat a prime Mike Tyson. At that point, I root against G, even though I knew he was a fabulous fighter. As far as robberies go, I think I had the 1st 2 fights split. It's been awhile, but at the time I didn't and still don't consider the decisions a robbery. Close fights.

I was fallowing GGG'S career with an open mind. There was alot of hype. By the time he fought and dismantled Murray and Lemieux i was a believer. Not that those guy are so great, its just the way he did it. The trajectory of his career had most of us thinking that GGG might stop Jacobs and Canelo at some point in their bouts. I felt that in order for GGG to get a decision over Canelo, he would have to beat him up badly . That didn't happen, but he still fought outstanding in both bouts, against in my opinion, elite competition. I had him winning both Canelo fights, but he had to dig deep and be at his best. The Canelo fights aged well because Canelo went on to do great things. GGG'S Chin ended up being every bit as good as it was touted. Being a big time Hearns fan in the past, i wasn't sold on GGG'S chin tell i saw it tested, which it was vs Lemieux, Jacobs, and Canelo twice. After those fights i was convinced of GGG'S chin as well as Canelo's, who went 24 rounds with the huge punching Golovkin, then he went 12 more in the trilogy fight.
I sometimes am put off by braodcasters overhyping certain fighters, like Lomenchenko ,by both HBO and ESPN, and Berlanga over hyped by ESPN. To me, i wasn't effected that way with the GGG hype from HBO, but for those that were, i get it. To me he didn't ever really disappoint, he is human. In an ideal world, i would have liked to see him fight Charlo and Andrade to unify all 4 belts. He had two, the IBF and WBA, but hey, he was approaching 40.

G was one of those guys that you didn't need to watch a lot of to know he was special. His footwork always seemed to keep him in range. Throw in that chin, power and timing and you got a monster on ypur hands.
