If Golovkin spent his prime by fighting contenders like Macklin, Stevens, Geale, Rubio and Murray , obviously the main reason was that the other mw belt holders were avoiding him, and he's not in his prime anymore ?:think

This fight could answer lots of questions about GGG's boxing age and the stage of his prime.

GGG is a highly disciplined fighter who doesn't only rely on his athleticism and power. He didn't receive a big deal of punishment either. He can go for at least 3-4 more years without losing anything significant from his performance.

And he's not putting that money up his nose or killing his lungs and liver between fights. Also doesn't balloon up in weight between fights

I saw it in the Willie fight. GGG is not prime now. This fight could be a huge surprise.

It will happen sooner or later. I wish he could go at least 2 years more. My concern is his training regime and Abel know-how how to work 34 years old fighter. He looked a bit more elusive couple of years ago, maybe a bit faster on his legs as well. I hope he can maintain his present form because its enough to beat anyone at 154-164.

Indeed 3G is a dedicated fighter but when the father time catches you then your reflexes and your speed start to diminish.

In that fight GGG pretty much let Willie to land on him for 'the big drama show' knowing that Willie wont hurt him and then he finished the business pretty quick.

His power will always be there so that will remain his get-out-of-jail card.

Once his legs go he will be easier to hit but he can always close the show. Not many fighters can boast that.

I think he seems pretty much the exact same as when he fought Proksa. His opponents have gotten more cautious of him in the fights since which affects the way he attacks and general posture of the fight so I think that would be maybe what is confusing people but as far his skills from where I sit, looks the same through each opponent.

Interesting point of view. Only against a well skilled boxer like Cotto or Andy Lee could see where GGG stands in terms of boxing abilities.

GGG actually had a better style defensively earlier into his pro career. Abel changed him and it could be a huge backfire for this fight. I wouldn't be shocked at all if GGG chinned cracked.

I hope they didn't fall in their own trap and got carried away with the 'mexican style' hype.

Lemieux can crack too and GGG must be careful.
