If Golovkin is fading away and the Lemieux fight could be a pretty tougher one ...

Guerrero: Impressive against weak comp. The guy has been koed 3x for a good reason.

Rosado: Ditto; the guy is 21-9 for Christ sakes.

N'dam: Good win, but no better than Quiilin, and had the fight been 15 rounds, he wouldn't have made it.

Lemieux is a good fighter, but again, you put GGG in his 5th pro fight in with Alcine, he stops him.

He doesn't look "old" at all in the ring. But I do have to remind myself he's creeping into his mid 30's. It's hard for me to imagine him being able to keep up this level of dominance for another 4-5 years though, that would put him closer to 40 and very few fighters in the history of the sport have been dominant that late in their careers.

He's wasted a lot of time trying to unify the MW division. He's had to stick with stay busy fights the past couple years because none of the other champions seemed like they wanted anything to do with him. He had his choice of moving up to SMW and taking on better quality fighters with bigger names, but he's dedicated to unifying the 160 lb division, so you can't really blame him at all.

IMO, it could take up to 2 years for him to be able to unify the MW division. I could easily see him being subjected to more "stay busy" fights. It sucks that he's not in his mid 20's right now.

Guerrero and his trainer both think Golovkin could be dropped or knocked out.

Rosado is 'the' MW test/gatekeeper now, you do great against him and you're ready for world level.

I would say N'Dam is arguably Quillin and Lemieux's best win, the guy is world level. He handled Stevens pretty comfortably.

I know Golovkin wins this easy, I just think that we're getting the absolute best of Lemieux and it should be recognized as a milestone for GGG.

    Lemieux is
    A) a fellow titlist,
    B) a guy coming off a world level win,
    C) a huge puncher,
    D) a full blown MW with a thick frame and
    E) a fighter who's coming to back Golovkin up against the ropes.

He will get the WBC belt whether Cotto/Canelo fight him or duck. If a WBO champ keeps ducking, I doubt that he will wait for a long time. There are 3 relatively weak SMW champions, and it is better to fight them while he is under 36 rather than later. Then again, if Ward will be willing to fight at 168, it is better to do it sooner rather than later.

GGG will have a very difficult job to unify titles with the other mw champions ( WBC and WBO) if he mops the floor with Lemieux.

Lemieux is a live dog in this fight. I expect he will be more than troublesome for GGG.I expect GGG to hit the canvas at some point. I am a fan of both fighters. course, I am not rich from betting on boxing winners either. lol.

    Eh??

Lemiuex has a 90% KO rate, Stevens has just over 50%.

Lemiuex dropped 4 times , and wobbled N'dam with every shot.

Stevens lost to N'Dam getting dropped too.

Lemiuex is levels above Stevens in terms of ability and threat to Golovkin's chin.

The fact that Stevens was able to land flush on GGG should be alarming rather than a positive ahead of next week's fight...

David is a great fighter, but against Gennady he will look like a boy fighting a man. That's just how good Triple G is.
