Where would the hype levels be at the moment? There is no doubt in my mind that he'd only be on PPV after the Macklin fight and there is a possibility that he'd be as big as Tyson was.

You're overestimating the popularity of boxing in America. I don't even think it's top 10 anymore.

If I'm not mistaken, McClellan got a P4P ranking after knocking out the one and only rated fighter he ever beat, Julian Jackson.

People are more accepting of foreign stars now than they've ever been here, but it'd have been easier to get the media on board with him sooner if he were American. Primarily, HBO would've been more willing to give him a high fight budget sooner instead of starting from scratch.

If Golovkin was an American, he'd probably have fought named fighters by now and not fought so many bums.
Golovkin's resume looks like a European fighter who is fighting in Germany. I.E., full of bums.

People say this yet other than a couple guys like Ward and Stevenson... Boxing above 154 is a wall of guy's who came up in Europe. If they're all bums what does that make American fighters?
    Cannon fodder for bums?
The bums the bums use to pad their records?

I think you are taking it too far. He is already popular in the boxing world. Being American might help him some over here, but not as much as you state. People thought that stupid **** ass ****** Broner was the next face of boxing, and he wasn't even on PPV. GGG might be slightly more popular to Americans, but not that much.

Germany is well known as being a haven for protected fighters like Sturm.
After Abrahams looked so bad in the Super 6, where did he return?
Straight to Germany where he could safely resurrect his career, and he hasn't stepped out of Germany since.

If Golovkin was american the hype around him would sickening and at least half the people on here that spend their time making mayweather threads up would forget about mayweather and would switch their gay love to Golovkin
