As great as it is to see elite level talent, Golovkin casts a big shadow over the MW division. Take him out of the picture and all of a sudden you'd have a solid division with very competitive, evenly matched fights. Question: If GGG was to retire this minute, and the remaining top 10ish MWs had a tournament, who would raise to the top. My choice: Billy Joe Saunders, I see him out-slicking everyone in the MW. Canelo would probably move up asap and learn quickly that he isn't a real MW. I see most top MWs beating Canelo at 160.
I think someone mentioned it already, there are a number of guys who operate around the middle weight class that are more than dangerous. Of course some of our resident "fanatics" will say they are all ducking avoiding or are plain scared as if the fighters themselves have a majority vote on who they fight lolololol! Lee Korba Jacobs Quillen Saunders D. Andrade: I'd love to see this fight vs GGG
pretty much. and look at what GGG did to Lemeuix :scaredas::scaredas::scaredas: fat coward canelo cant possibly compete at 154/155 for much longer without endangering his health. he's probably going to get badly exposed soon. if i were a boy canelo i would fight GGG as my first fight in the division for the big dolla as theres a good chance a solid 160 would beat him (though he'll prob feast on nothing but bums waiting for GGG to get old)
If by "solid" you mean filled with a bunch of mediocre at best fighters then yeah, mw is totally solid
Boxing would be even more dead... boxing cannot afford for golovkin to retire. GGG-Canelo is a fight that will bring fans back to boxing. It's gonna be massive, would be terrible if he retired.
