If Greb film still exists, what cash reward would flush it out of hiding?

    That's the advantage of the internet, IMO. You might be willing to pay more for exclusive rights, but as long as you're willing to pay something for the privilege of viewing Greb in public domain, you can pool resources with others who want the same.

    I am an idealist in this respect.

    If I bought it, then it would be my gift to the world.

    I would put it on Youtube, so that anybody could view it for free, and people would eventually lose interest in it.

    The modernists of this forum, would cite is as definitive proof that Greb was crap, and that he would have lost to any old woman with modern fundamentals.

    I would do this for two reasons.

    Firstly, I would be giving Harry Greb his real life form and style back.

    Secondly, I would be giving every boxing fan a chance to make their own mind up, even the ones who don't have a mind to make up.

    I would bunker down in my lair atop the Piz Gloria and inform the world's governments that I planned to destroy the Greb footage unless they paid me ten million dollars and recognized my claim to the Police Gazette belt.

    If someone had one I am sure that right now the sky is the limit for asking price.....they would need to start considering moving with a sale before the newer generations of fans no longer care

    I would never pay money for a Greb fight. I've never seen a Greb fight, so I don't know that it would be any good. And I've seen some of the "GREAT" fights of the 20s and 30s; they're mostly not that great. I would much rather see an unknown Saad Muhammad or Archie Moore fight, guys that I would be guaranteed or at least know what I'm getting.

    I would keep it … pay someone who knows what they’re doing to really clean it up into high definition colorized format with speed normalized…

    then I would publicize this on the market and I would hold the footage until someone offers me at least $ 100,000 because I know they’re filthy rich people out there and at least one of them knows how valuable this footage is for the boxing industry.

    If I had the film. I think I’d create an elaborate adventure for folks here to follow. Be wary @janitor guards the tomb of Harry, sword in hand. You’d need to duel Jan to get the key in an officially regulated sword fight.
