If Groves wins the WBSS what should he do next?

He should retire though, win or lose. He's had a great career and can be proud

 

Get a money spinner against degale and call it a day afterwards. Had a great career. Shoulder injuries killed his momentum a bit. Going up in weights not a great option at this stage of his career either for me. He's probably gonna struggle to make the weight to see out these last couple of fights with the lay off tho so who knows how its gonna end for him. Smith who I don't rate as highly as most do does have attributes that groves doesn't like. Always felt groves exchanges hooks too much as hes an excellent long distance boxer. Smith quite dangerous with the hook. The shoulder injury also makes that a competitive fight. Boxing is about timing....groves looks like its a big ask to go for massive/tough fights at this stage. Beat smith. Then take degale for the money.

 

Retire.

He benefitted from Eubank Jr being tremendously overhyped to make that win better than it really was.

George is serviceable world level fighter but he's not elite and he looks worn and tired to me.

Him and Degale have had tough careers, if they can get paid to fight each other they need to do that and both call it a day. There's plenty of things for both to do in the sport without being active fighters, and if they stick around they are gonna start taking beatings.

 

Good point, if groves sticks around he runs the risk of getting beaten up by Jackson BALOO, young CHRIS and a double cobraing

 

Unify! Zurdo, Benavidez, Uzi...all good fights

 

Why would he retire? He’s only 30.

Unless Ramirez moves up & if GG stays at 168, he should chase that fight. I’ve been less and less impressed by him & feel Groves could beat him. I would say move up to 175 but I don’t think he’s big or good enough to beat the killers up there

 

Been in many tough fights. Many rumours he has been laid out in sparring over the years as well. If he retires, Groves will have earned it.

Should retire but hard to turn down a few million quid from potential fights if he is still on a winning streak after the Smith fight.

 

IF he beats Smith then Degale would be an easy pay day for him, if he wants to chase greatness then hopefully Jack gets a rematch and beats Stevenson and then Groves and Jack can rematch at light heavy.

 

There’s talk of him going straight into the 175 super series.

 

Age in boxing means very little.

It’s miles on the clock,he has had a hard career and took a lot of punishment,that’s as well as his body clearly starting to creak.

 

Brave move if he does.

There are younger,fresher and bigger guys awaiting him there.
