Look how he lost in ROTR and to who; doesn't really help your argument. He gets the best fighters; you don't get bonus points for variety, if there are no top contenders from a region, the champion shouldn't be fighting irrelevant guys from there. Silva has faced fighters who were from the areas with the best contenders. Modern MMA produces a majority of elite talent at 185 from North America and Brazil.
I didn't say he was above those two in quality wins, I said he was ahead of Overeem in quality wins, this is indisbutable. Cain is a far better wrestler, with better cardio, and a better chin, he could very well take Overeem down and dominate him.
Name a name; you just can't do it can you? GSP hasn't fought a k1 level fighter because there are no K1 level fighters who deserve to fight him in MMA, since they are not top contenders and he would destroy them on the ground. He has faced elite wrestlers, elite grapplers, and elite MMA fighters. Name one mystery opponent you are thinking of, one.
Didnt work for James Toney did it dip****! Now you are avoiding the point I made about K1 fighters v GSP with a half assed what if You havent even named a K1 fighter who you think has the potential to beat him, unless you mean they all could Now name these Welterweights!!!!!!!!!!! Time to put up or for the love of the sweet baby Jesus just stfu
GSP is certainly ATG. One thing i dont have in his favour is lack of GP Tournaments. If you're a warrior, even in history you're tested in tournies. It's all well and good planning months ahead with top level coaching for an opponant but something about the tournament that brings out the real champ IMO.
Well you cant really criticise GSP for not fighting in tournaments when there were no tournaments around for him to fight in. He was to busy being a contender in the UFC to up sticks and go to Japan at the time And I dont see how GSP couldnt prepare for the eventuality of facing two guys instead of 1 in training tbh . Yes its more difficult, but others have done it
With GSPs legendary stamina and a great tactic of playing it safe, he could fight 10 guys in the same night with the same result.
BUMP because Ive just realised Im reposting the same stuff in other GSP threads and cant be arsed to go through it again
This really shows how ahead of his time Fedor was, sure there were other fighters who were good at more than one discipline, but Fedor could dominate in several ways. Even in 2011, only a handful of fighters have that kind of versatility, Jon Jones stands out in this regard.
GSP = very boring and puts people to sleep. AS = hyperactive, dancing clown. GSP wont win this, AS wont be bored to death, the guy would most likely start doing break dance in the middle of the cage just to entertain himself.
