If Hagler didn't fight orthodox early on vs Leonard, would he have won?

Hagler fought a stupid fight. I never understood his insistence that he could box as well orthodox as southpaw. He was saying this almost from the beginning of his career and it simply wasnt true. He was an average boxer at best orthodox and his insistence on fighting like this against Leonard lost him the first four rounds IMO and the fight. If you watch his fights where he switched back and forth he always less successful as a righty how much worse he was as a righty depended on the talent of who was in front him.

no. the loss of reflexes & speed was the main factor behind the loss

the reason he did it? becuz he knew he was out of ammo and needed to resort to cheap tactics, which didnt help him any

why does being a good businessman win him respect as a fighter? Is he so low on accomplishments and his resume so thin, that people now have to pad it with boxer/businessman?

at least Hagler didnt go out like Leonard did; two devastating losses

    back to back baby!

He did well against Duran as a righty. I agree Hagler overdid the switch hitting at times though. Marv was shot to **** when Leonard fought him, though. The speed, snap and timing had gone.
