If Haroon Khan Turned Pro : Who Would Promote Him?

Haroon Khan has proven all the critics wrong and all those people who had hoped to rub thier hands in glee if he had failed to win a medal.

That being said I dont think there is racism at play in the selection, Failing to make such big games and weight are frequent and afterall his brother did manage to represent GB.

I think he did the right thing in choosing to opt for Pakistan, I think any of us would have done the same, Its a once in a life time chance and you need to grab it with both hands, He gets to be seen on a big stage and win a medal for the county of his heritage since the country of his birth thought they had better boxers already.

Now my question here is After the commonwealth games he goes on to the Asia games where he will represent Pakistan since GB is not an Asian country, If then decides to turn professional who would promote him?

Frank Warren: No way will Frank Warren want to promote Haroon Khan because of his history with Amir. This is bad for Haroon because it means that Haroon Khan will miss out on the chance to fight for British, Commonwealth, EU titles that Frank Warren can easily get.

Mick Hennessy: This guy cant promote a bucket of water in a housefire and is a bad matchmaker, He is a weak promotor that will do more harm than good to H Khan.

Frank Maloney: Almost the same as Mick Hennessy, Infact I actually rate Frank Maloney slightly higher than Mick Hennessy, Frank Maloney always gets the Bronze level champion, The gold and silvers seem to sign with Frank Warren, But I dont think he can make Khan a household name.

Goldenboy: Haroon Khan can fight on his brothers undercard and get to fight in the US at an early age, But I dont see how GBP can get him British, Commonwealth, EU title fights, Also do Goldenboy want him? They seem to prefer taking in established names or people who have a decent record instead of people with no real professional record and building them up from scratch.

Top Rank: Its possible, Bob Arum is really good at building up fighters and H Khan can fight on massive undercards like Cotto, Pacquaio etc

Well he has a bronze in the bag atleast, Thats Guaranteed. All the critics didnt think he would even get a medal in the first place, Whether he will win silver or gold or loose and just get a bronze we will know over the next few days.

Asia games he will defo represent Pakistan because GB cant compete in those games since its not a Asian country.

As for qualifying for the Olympics, He will qualify for Pakistan without doubt, I dont think the UK side will let him represent the UK because he has represented Pakistan, Also why swtich sides to the UK when they didnt want him in the first place and he is doing well with Pakistan?

I dont think he will go to the Olympics to be honest, I might be wrong but thats two years away and he could have about 10 professional fights by that point or get injured just before the games.

 

Yep he will need to fight about 4/5 times a year Haroon Khan as a upcoming professional, Amir is a champion can have 2/3 fights a year. So yeah he can fight on Amirs undercard now and again but he will need more fights.

 

one thing for sure he is not a boxer but a brawler, I agree that he will make a better professional than amatuer.
