If Hatton beats Malignaggi, where will it rate on his resume?

Malignaggi is not a great fighter, but he might be Hatton's 2nd best win?

He has better names there like Tszyu and Castillo but hey McBride has Tyson on his resume too...

Tszyu was 35 and Castillo was shot to pieces...

I suppose the Tszyu win still has to rate at no 1 as the man wasn't shot..but the Castillo win isn't worth ****...

Collazo was prime but he is b level fighter....

and all Hatton's other wins are dinosaurs and bums...

Malignaggi is a young prime fighter and one of the top dogs at 140...

this will have to be his 2nd best victory......

    Agree/Disagree?

Malignaggi is going to be a better win than Tszyu? :patsch

Kostya Tszyu may have been 36, but that's not exactly ancient and no-one was calling him shot when he destroyed Sharmba Mitchell seven months before fighting Hatton. Maliagnaggi will never have a win of that standard.

So Malignaggi is on par with shot Phillips and behind Ben Tackie? Your really are a Paulie hater!

    Can you count to '4'?

Depends how he performs. Say he does it convincingly enough...

It's never going to be better than Tszyu. But if he won well, although Collazo looks better on paper as a welter, everybody knows it wasn't a convincing performance.

    Castillo was shot to ****.

So I'd say it would actually be around about his second best win. That tells you something.

I think the Urango win will be one of those like Lacy and Kessler were for Calzaghe, in that it will be defined by what they do after Hatton/Calzaghe's retirement.

Clearly the Lacy win doesn't carry as much already, but clearly Joe ruined him - whilst Kessler will beat plenty of leading names over the next five years.

Not sure what to make of Urango, clearly a massive guy and a big puncher, but hasn't beaten anybody else of note yet. If he beats a few decent names in future, the fact that Hatton schooled him will carry more weight.

I wouldn't hang your hat on Urango. When we are hoping for Kessler to do something we are doing so knowing he's a skilled operator that has outclassed B fighters comprehensively.

Urango's barely fought any B fighters nevermind beat em. He can not box at all, Hatton looked like a slickster against him. He has freakish size, thats all.
