    What weight?

    Hatton late TKO 140
    Cotto mid KO

    :deal

Once he beats Malignaggi, he will be looking in a different direction, whilst Cotto will be having his comeback fight.

    Agreed

    Hatton mid/late KO at 140
    Cotto mid/late KO at 147

Neither fight would go the distance

If it's at 140 Hatton has a decent chance of winning, at 147 he more then probably gets stopped.

Cotto beats (or would have beat) him at any weight. Some people are very naive about weights. It doesn't make Hatton any better you know, because he weighs 140lbs. How do you go from Cotto KO'ing him mid rounds to Hatton stopping him late? You really have to be relying on Cotto being at his absolute worst state for that to happen.

I doubt Cotto can even make 140 anymore, but when he did he would have beaten Hatton.

Cotto is clearly not the same at 140, and as you state it's doubtful that he can even make the weight anymore. He would be draining big time. And yet, even with you acknowledging this, and the fact that Malinagi took rounds off Cotto at 140 (lasted the fight), you still say he indisputably beats Hatton handsdown, without question, everytime. I think that says it all.

Cotto is also coming off a heavy defeat remember, and may not be the same boxer anymore. His air of invincibility is no-more - for the time being anyway. Who knows how he will bounce back.

No, my point was that in my mind Cotto would have beaten Hatton 95 times out of 100 WHEN he was at 140. Yet there seems to be this strange theory that Hatton would have this great chance of beating him when he has no advantages stylistically.

To ask Cotto to go down to 140 and pose the question now is just ridiculous when you see the Malignaggi weigh in, Cotto was the worst I've ever seen a fighter look in recent times and he's grown into 147. Its a pointless question, it would hardly be an achievement to beat a zombie.

    Woulda, coulda, shoulda. :-(

140 Hatton KOs Cotto, 147 Cotto KOs Hatton. Now not then. :deal

I doubt Cotto would have beaten Hatton when he could make 140. I'm not a big fan of Hattons but you really need to get over this Hattophobia.
