If some way Hatton beats Mayweather I think he should return to junior-welterweight. Cotto and Mosley are tough match-ups and I'd pick them. Mayweather would win a rematch, he is beast in rematches. Cintron would also be close. I know if he stays at 147 he wont be champion for long.

Yes, he should stay at Welterweight because thats were all the big money fights are at.

And, Floyd has only fought in 1 rematch and it was boring as hell...

move back down if i was promoting or managing him.
140 is clearly his best weight.
at 5.6 he is not tall enough or long enough to deal with the extra height /natural weight and reach they have over him at 147.

you simply do not get fighters the size of williams at 140

    "Beast in rematches."...WTF? :huh

Anyway I think "if" Ricky wins, and that's unlikely, he should just evaluate how he felt at 147 during the fight. If he thinks he can stay there based on that, then that's where the big fights certainly are. :good

Hattons too small to campaign at 147, PBF isn't a big welter which suits him but there are a lot of big guys at 147 at the moment.

Yea it's just hard for me to see Ricky doing well against someone as big as Cintron or Williams.

Please tell me who that is in your avatar!

It is clear that he should fight the Mosley-Cotto winner but I bet he avoids that one. I expect he'll suddenly fancy a fight with Witter when everyone is calling for him to fight Cotto or Mosley.

I've got no problem with him going either way. But, I believe he would have more success at 140.

Love him to fight Cotto at 147...regardless of if he would win or not, Oscar will be next though.

He should move back down to 140 and try to grab a belt and unify. If he beat Witter, Malignaggi, Torres, and Rees, he would be remembered as a great fighter and a future HOFer despite losing to the best in the world (there would be no shame in that).
