If Hatton beats Pauli convincingly, doe he deserve a p4p top ten spot?

Sure, but Pavlik got a rise after beating Locket who is way below Malignaggi's level....

Anyone know how P4P is officially calculated? Or is just Ring's editors sitting down with a few beers and pizza?

I dont see why not....Hatton was ranked no 7 before his lost to no 1 Mayweather. Show me another p4p guy that dropped out due to losing to the number one guy. Cotto lost to Margo who wasnt even in the top 10 and he is still ranked in the top ten. I think that Hatton dropped out because he lost to May which is a sin in boxing. Hatton didnt get blow away by Floyd. He got beat up pretty good but he showed well.

Beatting Mags should get him back in around 9 or 10 if he eeks one out, if its impressive I think he could go as high as 7. A lost and he would be just about done.

No, because Paulie hasnt beaten anyone who would make him close to top 10.

I dont think Hatton will be top 10 again in his career.

its is a real tough argument because everyone has different ways of calculating p4p boxers
but you need to realise that being the best in your weight class does not make you p4p in the world and i feel that there are alot of questions surrounding ricky right now that is why he doesnt get nod from me
also cotto did quit but who wouldnt of quit to margo that night, i dnt know about you guys but i was very shocked at the way cotto fought the first half of the fight it showed he is not 1 dimensional like some fighter but he is a class act

seems like that to me, it can be used as a guide but you shouldn't follow it like its gospel.

for me, hatton would have to smash paulie to bits to be considered one of the top 10 in the world. here's hoping.....
