Wins against someone like JMM, Khan or Katsidis as examples and wins in style like the old 100mph stuff and takes a bit on the chin too and Pacquiao loses to Cotto and Mayweather (lets face it, Mayweather ain't gonna fight Cotto if he wins anyway) would you like to see Hatton-Pac II :nut Serious though, if Hatton comes back, proves he's still got something, Pac gets two beat downs what dya reckon?

Well actually, I pretty much know the responses I will get, but do you think there's still a way back for Hatton to the top level? Fighters don't get **** overnight, just because he got raped by an elite fighter like Pac, doesn't mean he can't operate at the top anymore. Some were even convinced he would win. :deal

Yeah there is definitely a way back for Hatton to fight at the very top level. Not because of his ability, but because he puts bums on seats. If Hatton comes back, wins a tune up fight in style and the elite are looking for a big payday then Hatton's the man.
Experts and journalists may say they dont want to see it and the Hattons well past it, but the fact is people will pay and people will watch

After those two defeats he should call it quits.

I think he should fight Amir Khan then retire, I think it would be a quality fight he could even get the win.

Hattons not coming back, the longer he leaves it the worse his conditioning will be. I dont doubt hatton will struggle to lose weight as he trains very hard, he just hasnt got the punch resistance anymore. Years of indulging between fights and hard fights have taken there toll. No shame in calling it a day, he had a great career and gave it a good go

I also think that hatton would be silly to fight amir khan! Khans everything hatton should avoid. Admittedly he may not have the strongest chin but he has lightning hands and reflexes and is only improving under roachs guidance. Khan would dance round hatton for a few rounds, probing away with jabs and combinations and probably win a fight on cuts after 5 or 6 rounds

I still think Tyszu ruined him, even though he won. He took some awful shots and, ever since then, his head movement, his footwork and his punching has been sloppy.

The clinching changed from being a tactic to help him wear an opponent down to a tactic that let him survive without eating punches. His punches were wilder and less effective and he threw all strategy out the windown in an attempt to swarm and smother his opponent, often smothering his own work in the process.

All that since Tyszu - he's looked ropey in every single fight since.

Depends if his punch resistance has gone, doesn't it? Whether he's at the elite level or something just below, he's always been one that had to walk through fire to land punches. If his resistance is weak he could struggle against any world class fighter given his style.

I think his resistance might be helped by moving to 147 - but would be up against harder punchers so that would be negated somewhat.

He looked awful on the scales for the Pac fight, more awful than usual.

If he wants to stay at 140 he needs Kayes's help :deal

I don't think any physical decline can be attibuted to the Zoo fight, it was a tough fight, but not THAT tough.

What I think did happen is that Hatton had success with the strategy he used in that fight of walking forward and trying a crowd the other guy and used it too often.

What also happened is simply that the quality of opponent post-Zoo was better than it was pre-Zoo so he was always going to struggle more.

There are enough decent, respectable results (Urango, Collazo, Mallinaggi) in fights after Zoo to suggest there was no big decline physically because of the that fight IMHO. Its true Paulie was made for Hatton but it was still a pretty decent performance he put in to totally dominate the fight from first to last.

Hatton will be back. He deserves another crack IMO. Would love to see him fight JMM.
