to be the best you gotta beat the best, pac is no.1 p4p&hatton is a p4per so if he beat pac he'd be no.1 right?discuss.:good
No - different weights so afraid not. If Hatton were to beat Pac people would say its because Pac was blown up and (as a Hatton fan) I'd be inclined to agree. For Hatton to be regarded P4P#1 he'd have to beat Cotto, Quintana and Pac. Only the latter is likely to happen. He'd be better trying to clear out lightwelter!
Not for me, but certainly worth consideration. Depending on the outcome of the Diaz fight, this fight could happen - but beating a guy who has stepped up two weight classes (pretty much) in two fights would not do it. All it would prove is that Hatton is the man at 140, and Pac should stick to beating guys his own size! The win would carry greater precedence if Ricky dropped to 135 to challenge for the WBC title. That may be a first, a guy winning titles at three different weights in a downward sequence......
It would take more than that bro... he'd need to fight & beat the top guy's in his weight class then look for another Superfight Vs. a fighter from the Superior Welterweight class. (Cotto/Williams/Margarito ect...) I'll reserve my Pac thought's until I see him fight At Lightweight. (I'm not sure anything above 130 will be for him...)
If Pacquiao beats Hatton he will be without a doubt. Even if Mayweather is back by then. However, Hatton is expected to beat Pacquiao by most people so I don't think it will be such a huge win for him. Considering he's fallen out of the P4P rankings, I think he'd go to about 6th or 7th.
I still have Hatton in my top ten, and he'd probably go to about 4/5 depending on the movement of others. But at the moment there's a big gap between Pac and Calz at 1&2 and then the rest of the bunch
if hatton wins against pac - no if pac wins against hatton - yes its deemed by many as an easy fight for hatton, and theres no excuse if he loses to pac. Pac on the other hand if he did lose, people will not criticize him for that as hatton is naturally bigger.
Agreed , I dont usually put much stock in the weight diff, but Pac started at Superfly . Superfly !! Cant help singing Curtis Mayfield
I don't know about that. He seems to have look drained at 130lbs in recent fight. I don't think he could have made the limit many more times.
No, because: 1. Hatton would fight at his natural weight and Pac would be at a weight that is big for him 2. I have a tie Calzaghe-Pacquiao as p4p #1 and that would make calzaghe undisputed #1
No, he should then be elevated into maybe the top 8 but there are alot more deserving fighters out there. For me the fight would be a Hatton stoppage win and by all rights it should be a fairly comfortable win.
Just like Hatton was blown up when he fought Mayweather then :thumbsup (+ a dodgy ref) All the same it will be a sad day for boxing all round if Hatton is ever provlaimed P4P no.1, he can't box for **** just pressure.
