Why are there so many of these give Hatton more respect threads? He's on HBO, the #1 in his division, getting fights against Mayweather and Pacqiuao, how much more respect do you want?

If he fights a war with Pac and wins fairly then it would be impossible for him not to be praised. But if he holds excessively or uses dirty tactics then to win then he will deny himself praise.

The dude got KO'd 3 fights ago. Ever since then, all he's done is beat a tomato can in Lazcano & a powder punching Malignaggi. How much praise does he deserve?

    You just answered my question!

The guy is widely regarded as the best at 140, has been in or around the top ten P4P ranking for some time and has only lost once.....to someone regarded as the best of his generation. If that doesn't deserve respect then I don't know what the **** does.

Are you going to be one of the people who says (if Hatton does win) that beating Pac is 'nothing special as he is only a blown up Light Flyweight' or something similar??

Anyway, the question from the OP was ' IF, Hatton gets the win over Pacquiao will he finally get the praise he deserves'??

    I don't think he will.

imo a hatton win over manny is better than anyone at 140 & under.

Nope. But what I'm saying is Hattons win over Paulie was a good win, and he impressed me with the way he fought. But at the end of the day, it was only a good win. Now the quality of his win compared to all the praise he's getting doesnt add up. If he beats Pac, which I think he will, he'll get alot of credit from me & he'll prove the theory that styles make fights. But the type of praise I see him getting on ESB is that prime for prime he's better than Tszyu & that he's a top 100 ATG.

We'll have to agree to disagree on that one mate. To me, he gets more hate than respect on here...and not just from your side of the pond. Take a look in here (general) and in the Brit forum. Most of the decent, mentally stable posters say that he's obviously a decent fighter, etc. but that hardly amounts to 'nuthuggery'. Whereas the amount of unbridled hate that is directed his way is, quite frankly, shocking.
