These are naturally smaller guys with high stature . . . if he can beat Malignaggi, Bradley and Kendall Holt and become the unified 140 champ . . . he'll have a good chance in the number 1 position.

he did look bad against urango - but was lucky enough to get the decision and got the castillo fight.

you ever taken a chance in life and things just fell in your place because you were in the right place at the right time and worked at it?

you're just judging because you haven't done that.

and that's the same ignorance i posted before about williams -margarito.....

i dont agree at all - and i'm australian.

i don't see how anyone can call tszyu a masterful boxer.

he was resilient, a smart fighter, composed and had character - but was never a masterful boxer.

    not even close.

with all due respect i dont think he lost the collazo fight, close but UD to hatton, dont forget it was his first at WW and i think luis is one of the most underrated boxers active today

urango is awkward and will undoubtedly prove a handful for anyone as he matures i see big things for that kid, ricky clearly won the fight messy yes! but he got the job done

give him his due with lazcano it was "THE" comeback hurdle which many greats have faltered at,it was always going to be a FIGHT,yes he got hurt a little its boxing...... but he won most of the rounds

evening BI, as you know we see eye to eye on most things but on this i must disagree, tszyu was an exceptional talent see above and the way he schooled vernon forrest for one example..

a truly great fighter who could be considered a throwback style wise but was more than capable of "mastery of the art"!

Seriously. There are guys at 140 he probably can't beat. Malinaggi is one.

No, he will have to unify 140, and then beat those guys to be considered a top 5 pfp guy. You can't become number 1 beating on naturally smaller men.

Hattons 30 now, hes not going to be boxing much longer, in fact i give him 2 maybe 3 more fights at most, so unifying a division he is a master at would be a complete waste of time when there are a number of super fights out there that would prove Ricky is one of the best fighters P4P!..
Who cares whos P4P number one anyway, its a matter of opinion, all that i care about is seeing the best boxers in the world fighting one another wether its for a belt or not.

Did you read my post?

I said "a chance" . . . if he beats all the 140 pounder title holders and beats Pacquaio . . . no question he is No 1. :deal

    Agreed!

In the pros, I dont think Tszyu even faced anyone remotely considered a great boxer........
.....the closest he came was probably his first fight with Sharmba Mitchell, who was boxing the pants off of Tsyzu to the point where Mitchell had a bad step and hurt his knee in the fight.
....there was a couple other time where Tszyu got outboxed during a fight, but found ways to win them.

A great boxer Tszyu was not. I'd characterize Tszyu as a good boxer who could look like a great bpxer with the right opponent, say a slow as mollases Ben Tackie.
.....kinda how Manny Pacquiao looked vs David Diaz.
Pacquiao looked like SRR against David Diaz, but a fight before, he got thorougly outboxed by JMM who is a true master boxer.
