yes, difference being that Hatton moved up to fight the #1 WW in the world, while this time around Hatton is the bigger guy with the opponent moving up to face him.

 

The Hopkins thing is nonsense. BHop employed a dumb strategy and Calzaghe exposed it. JC won that fight by maybe three rounds. But, I do believe BHop wins a rematch. Is it JC's fault BHop screwed up his tactics? Nah, but he probably should've rematched him... But Bhop gave him every excuse not to with the racism (undermined by the fact that Calzaghe had the grace - and sense - not to treat it as racism) and the way he behaved over the low punch (it was low, but my god, those were high trunks). we hear that aggression wins in the US (why UK fighters used to get robbed despite efficiency of punching), what if an overseas fighter had behaved like BHop? not roght that a fighter loses for that reason, but god only knows the sh*te honeyghan or Benn - tough b*stards - would've got had they behaved like that in Vegas.

What you're basically asking is 'if Hatton was a better fighter than he is would he be p4p no.1?'. Answer: Maybe. You can call him p4p no.1 now if you want and it will be as valid as anybody else's pick, the whole notion is stupid and pointless anyway.
