Its interesting seeing how after losing to Floyd he fall out of the ranking all together. Its somthing that rarely happens when two p4p top 10 guys fight with the loser going out of the rankings.

    interesting idea....

but we'd have to assume that Hatton would have fought someone else in that period, and probably not Lazcano after that. Who do you see in their places? Presumably we're also assuming Hatton wins...

Voted Not at all.He did a good thing fighting the no 1 p4p guy....showed balls and he was very game in what he did,he went up in weight(where he was 0-1,say what you want,Collazo won). It's better that he fought Mayweather for his legacy and rankings.

    Not rarely.

Hopkins and Pavlik fought and Pavlik fell out.

Margo and Cotto fought and Margo entered and Cotto stayed.

What does it tell us? That the latino crowd has a biased stranglehold on boxing.

I'm not actually sure, but at the time Cotto went up to fight Quintana at 147, Mayweather went up to fight Mitchell, Baldomir and Judah at 147 also. Good question, but all the talent was moving up 7 pounds - from what I can recall.

Given that there are at least half a dozen fighters a mere 7lbs above him who would pound the shite out of him...probably around about 15th off the top of my head.

I have a problem with that statment..I feel that some of fighters at 154 would beat Margo and Cotto, I know that most of the guys in the top 5 would beat pac at 140.

    Fair point.

I'm talking about absolute hidings though, can you imagine what Paul Williams, for instance, would do to him? He wouldn't be competitive at all.

So that pretty much excludes all the feather, bantam and fly boxers from being in a P4P list?

    LMAO.

He probably made more $ in that 1 fight than he did in his entire career...He's not a hero bro. He did it for the $ not his legacy.

Truth to tell, I have no idea how the best featherweight would stack up against the best bantams... I'm not proud of it but those weights are totally off my radar.

True but it didn't hurt his legacy, probably quite the opposite.

Yeah but that is going from one end to the other. Williams will end his career as a lightheavyweight I bet you. While Hatton will most likely end his career as a jr welter. It would be like having Pac fight Cotto at 140, Pac wouldnt be competitive. And I dont think that he will be competitive with Oscar...

If he hadn't fought Floyd he would probably still be riding high in the list on the undefeated, so I must be great, never had the balls to face a prime ATG train.
