Floyd is following the RJJ blueprint down to a "T". In RJJ day, most serious boxing fans used to feel that RJJ was a cherrypicker the same way most serious boxing fans feel that way about Floyd. The problem is there are a lot more casual fans than serious fans, and they get all wowed by the flashy style and look at the W and L's and just say "Wow this guy is unstoppable, he just beat Oscar De La Hoya, he must be great!!!"

Now most seroius fans know, that Oscar was already on the slide and he is getting old, but dont tell that to the casual fan. They only know the big names, they see the stats and film clips and they get blown away. Roy has built his career the same way. He cherry picked fights, he fought big names, but only when the were on the slide and out of prime. Most of his film clips come from him beating up bums, dishwashers, substitute teachers, garbagemen and dirty cops. And the only time he would fight someone in his prime was unless they were tailor made for his style, the same as Floyd. Now, you dont know all this because you are proably young and weren't around when Roy 1st started, but I followed him since the Olympics, and up until he made the mistake of accepting a fight with Antonio Tarver, Roy had not had a seriuos opponent since 1993.

He wasn't out of prime, he just finally ****ed up and picked the wrong one.

I won't argue with you. It's an argument you have lost to often to bear repeating. Until you can name all the bums he fought, then you should stop mentioning it. Remember, Tarver got his shot fighting those same guys.

I will say this to one of your tremendously dumb points. If Jones had not had a serious opponent until Tarver since 1993, then what was Harding? You know, the guy who beat Tarver to get a title shot vs Jones?

BTW, Jones defended his LHW belt far more than PBF has defended his recent titles. Jones didn't cherry pick at LHW. Or even SMW.

A win over Hatton would be very good and another notch for Floyd's career whether anyone thinks Hatton is overhyped or overrated.

true floyd was not ricky manitory but was the biggest fight 140, not to mention rickey put floyd' s name in his mouth.

Who else was suppose to beside gatti and brueles, if the top guys at 140 refuse to fights him? It taken rickey 2 years and 5 tuneup too get ready for this fight. But yet again I guess this floyd's fault right?
