So your not a hater and your not a nuthugger......hhhmmm, what sort of freak are you??:think

Only j/k. I agree 100% with this. Too many people look to poke holes where it suits them. This fight is as genuine as it gets. We all want this.

That was the same old chico..Anyway. Hatton is like a half level better then chico was and he is better then gatti. But the thing is, Floyd is household now. He is everywhere and is mad popular. Especially in the black community. From being on 24/7 everybody is interested in this guy. Some will pay to see him lose(majority) others will pay to see him win. FLOYD IS NOW A BIG DRAW. He has crossed the threshold. He is recognized everywhere. He may not sell out seats but he will always sell ppvs as he always did. His #s are not as good as delahoyas or Titos was but nobodies #s were. Nobody..he is a solid ppv draw. 300k sales for fighting baldomir proves that..Yeah just like hatton had a bad cold against collazo.. and floyd had a bad shoulder against Castillo. Maybe true, but this is boxing. You cant make excuses.

C'mon man, stop the racial aspect!!! There's many great black champions through history and some were GENUINELY popular and respecatble, as they werent ****ing *******'s like Floyd.Floyd's a disgrace compared to fighters like Joe Louis, Floyd Patterson, Muhammed Ali, Joe Frazier, George Foreman, etc., etc, etc.
Floyd is like the Black Version of Silver Spoon and now suddenly he's a ghetto icon?? C'mon, man, that's ridiculous. His 'popularity" is only in bling, undefeated hype, and the cash game which what most poor aspiring people look up to. Watch what happens, when the 0 disappears:D Almost half of Floyd's so called "fanbase" will disappear in the wind. As for 300K?? Yeah at least 150 K were tuning in hoping he'd lose, that doesnt mean they are fans. Floyd is not a BIG DRAW!! Say he pulled another stunt and fought somone like Isaac Hlatshwayo at 47, he'd be lucky to see 300 buy's. Hatton will bring more fans at the gate and the PPV numbers will do well as Floyd's fighting a live and popular opponent.

Collazo?? Collazo aint Floyd and I make no excuses. I merely point out Chico's problems because Floyd suddenly went back down in weight to get Corrales as word was out that DC wasn't right. It's just another example of how Floyd has cherry picked his opposition.

THIS IS THE FIRST TIME since Castillo that Floyd has made a relevant fight with a prime guy and for that I SALUTE HIM and hope it's the first step on a redemming path which establishes real credibility. I'll respect it more even WHEN he loses(SSM, Cotto, and Hatton is a very possible loss or two) than I would if he had stayed retired hiding behind the 0 and not fighting the best opponents.

What it shows?? Is instead of legitimizing himself further at 35?? Floyd chose not to face the inferior fighter and only made an offer when said fighter hit rehab. That speaks for itself!!!! Supa lips should have fought and beat the other Champ and left another W on his legacy.

I dont believe that you saw the session, Ithink you saw the "lowlites" that exist on YOUTUBE and you are missing quite a bit more than what was shown there.

As for how it went down?? Ask yourself why on god's green earth PBF and camp sought Spadafora out at that gym that day, talked all kinds of ****, knowing he was a week and a half from his first defense, if he was so out of shape?? The fact is Floyd was 3 month's from his last fight and 3 months before his next fight and trains all the time like 24/7 indicated. He was looking to embarrass a whiteboy and test the waters at 35 thinking Spadafora was an easy title grab:yep

But god damn?? That "white boy" beat his ass down and around the ring, and thats what Floyd never had the balls to change:good

It's water under the bridge, but still an example of how PBF has cherry picked and manipulated his record. If Floyd feels froggy he could always rectify the situation some day:lol:

C money for real. You are too stuck on that Spadafora thing. Floyd had clothes on and everything. It do not count. I mean spadafora can brag but in means nothing in the ring. Nothing. Corrales challenged floyd C money. That was a mutual fight. The bling appeal is what sells platinum records and the main reason any rappers are as popular as they are now. They are a big influence and floyd is household especially especially to the young guys in the black community. Im talking 10 year olds know who he is. Ali was considered the biggest ******* in boxing when he was in his prime and was the most hated fighter of all time. That hate turned into love through is charisma that has been unmatched by any person in any sport. Joe Louis, Floyd Patterson, Joe Frazier and George Foreman did not have as many quote BLACK fans as Mike Tyson. Mike Tyson was not respectable but we loved Mike. I mean eveybody that grew up in that era looked at Mike Tyson as a hero more so then the fighters that we looked at as UNCLE TOMS Joe Louis, Floyd Patterson, Joe Frazier and George Foreman. Majority of us black folk do not even bring them up as there favorite fighters. But you hear Aaron Pryor. Tommy Hearns. Mike Tyson. Leonard. Whitaker. Mayweather. **** even Judah. That is what it is. You not knowing and not being aware do not know what I am talking about. You think b/c the guys you mentioned acted respectable outside the ring they were who we liked and looked up to. No...not at all.

And C money. Floyd hits the gym all the time. Not spars in the boxing gym or does his boxing routine. That is absurb. He goes out and parties the night away more so then any other fighter. His normal training camp is 2 months so if it was 3 months after his last fight and 3 months before his next. I bet whatever he has not been in that ring for the last 3 months and he looked heavy as well he got cocky and got beat up. He was not in fighting form as was spadafora who was in traing camp. Thats why they call it training camp. Most fighters exercise like regular folk but they do not go in the boxing ring unless they are in training camp. When floyd is off of work.. he really does not go in the ring and spar and all that. with who...for what..you think he has sparring partners laying around that he just calls up and says meet me in the ring so he can beat them up when he does not have a fight scheduled..come on.

I'm way beyond the Spadafora issue, but it was the beginning of whats become a pattern for Floyd of avoiding to opponents and dates the timeline back to 99. Also, Floyd was the one stuck on it because he wouldnt take Spat's title in the RING. The 3 years later rehab offer is a sad reflection of the effect it had on Floyd.

Further, Floyd doesnt have 1/10the the character of any of the aforementioned athletes. He's a loudmouthed jerk with money, nothing more, nothing less. One, who openly disrespects the accomplishments of great black athletes like SRL/SRR etc. and the sport itself. Like I said, its the fame and money that the kids look up to and not the character of the man. Thats HYPE, not real and lasting popularity. I love hip-hop and have been down since the beginning, yet much(NOT ALL) of what comes out today is GARBAGE because it has been corrupted with the bling, hype, and money above all attitude, rather than substance and quality. Without significant changes in character?? Mayweather's 'respect' wont endure the test of time, despite what some in the black community feel. Dare i say, that those so called 'uncle toms' are far, far, far more respected TODAY. I'd also add that you are showing a generational bias when you speak of who 'black folk" name as their favorite fighters. Hell Leonard, Hearns, Whitaker, and Pryor all earn more respect as well despite going through their own issues. They didnt **** on the sport and everyone in it while avoiding tough fights like Primadonna Boy.

As for Chico, yeah he called him out but THE TIMING of the fight was again another Floyd chosen CHERRY. Like I said, I hope Mayweather has the heart to reverse the trend and fight the best as REAL CHAMPIONS ALWAYS HAVE:good I hope he does!!!

Give it up:good Make any excuse YOU LIKE but it was PBF and camp that went SEARCHING for Spadafora and knew he was less than two weeks from a defense. So, how stupid would they have had to be? To wake floyd up after partying all night and bring him down to the gym?? C'mon man, they arent stupid. They thought they had an easy mark and it's a common strategy of theirs to test it in the gym. They did the same with Judah before PBF faced him. Funny that, that "sparring" went floyd's way, and WA LAH....they made the fight, EVEN AFTER JUDAH LOST TO BALDOMIR:D

If it was all about the 'off day"'?? It shouldnt have taken 3 years and rehab to attempt it FOR REAL.:yep

becuase you have people out here that think hatton has the tools to beat floyd.

so 1 hattons is prime and undeafeated, according to you and posters like you, pbf has not fought a prime fighter since um i dont know when but i would have sayed since judah.

hattons is top pound 10 guy right, and even though pbf fans think hatton dont have a chance.hatton feels and his followers have a hell of a chance, he just koed castillo with a body shot ouch !

so pbf fans can rubb it in the faces of the people who wanted him to lose.and hattons is a prime fighter only 28 so pbf should fight him for that alone.

Excellent post. Sometimes I think the Mayweather fans, and a lot of other fans in general today, are more interested in bling and what the money might bring them, then the person. It's why assholes like Vick, Terrell Owens, Bonds, Judah, Pac Man jones and any other loud mouth has fans.

They want to be him, plain and simple. And if they can't, they want to have homosexual realtions with him. OK, not really. They are just morons...

What I want to know is why do 95% of all the Mayweather fanboys make all these threads WORRYING about what posters MIGHT SAY IN THE FUTURE, then act as if they said it?

"If Floyd wins beats Hatton, all the hater will say..."

"If Floyd beats Margarito, all the haters will say...."

Is it really a bid surprise that these children cannot debate ANYTHING involving Floyd?

Most young black males see floyd everyday. Got a best friend that is Floyd. Fought a guy like floyd at the club. Floyd has a very normal and ordinary personality to us. He is just....normal. I mean he is over the top, a little corny. But he fits right in. He is down, his car game is no joke. I mean you got the average black inner city or even mid city guy in the barbershop talking ****, reading RIM magazines looking at Floyds fleet of cars and other famous rich blacks. Admiring. All would do the same if they were in that position. I mean when floyd was on 24/7 you seen ignorance. We seen us. I mean **** aint serious all the time. Any guy I know makes jokes about ODH and how he seems dry and lame. I mean.. Thats just us. Black folk are flashy. Majority. You would be hard pressed to see somebody that is not impressed with floss. Dont you know dudes sit around thinking of ways or go out there and do anything just to get the type of **** floyd got. I mean dudes are trying to be ballers. Your whole life you are trying to reach baller status. That is the times. That is what it is. We look at floyd as a baller. I mean he is a baller that worked hard for what he got. He is a damned role model for young guys. I mean he aint just rich for no reason. He worked extra hard at boxing. Since he was a kid. You guys dont respect that. WE DO
