Why doesn't he move up to W/W. If he had 3 fights there he will surley become stronger and would have a better chance agaisnt Mayweather.

Yep, then if he loses there he'll have no belts and no Mayweather. Staying at 140 keeps his options open.

To add to what GazOc wrote there is a stong possibility of him losing at 147 unless he fights 3rd rate boxers. Look at what the likes of Collazo did to him.

Hatton is **** scared of Cotto as it is and will do anything to avoid him, Cotto moving to 147 was a fantastic gift for Hatton as now he can claim he is best at 140 without the threat of Cotto.

Its not about having a realistic chance of beating PBF but about the money and the media circus that attracts Hatton to a rematch with PBF. He will never beat him. I think you could tie Floyds laces together and he would still beat Hatton.

I don't know that I'd put it quite that way esp. the part about Cotto. It seems to me Kurt that Cotto has just come in over the last few days as your sub for Witter?

 check my posts young man. I was more a Judah man than Witter, so I dont know why you keep thinking I was pro Witter. Yes it would have been nice to have seen Witter and Hatton fight (instead of Maligfaggot) but I would rather see him fight Cotto or Judah.

Having watched a few Cotto fights I can see him busting Hattons arse much worse than PBF did.

You think Hatton stands any chance against Cotto ? :nono

Not at Cottos weight of 147, probably not.

I don't think Cotto is going to sail through Margo like some people think...

Going by Saturdays performance I would not even pick Hatton at 140 over Cotto.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I'm not saying you particulary rated Witter. I'm just saying first it he was the tool to bash Hatton with charges of ducking and now he's been beaten you are using Cotto who isn't even in the same weight class.

I don't think cotto would have beaten hatton at 140 when they had the chance to fight, he was to weight drained, he would kill hatton at 147 but the extra 7 pounds makes a big difference to both men.

I understand what you are saying but you are saying it to the wrong man. Yes I have posted quite a few times mentioning Judah and now like the look of Cotto.

There are only 7lb's in it, you think if Cotto was offered £5m he would not shed the 7lb ?

The original post mentioned Hatton fighting at 147 for the experience and to get strong. Cotto fights at 147 so why not get strong against him ?

"To get strong"??? How about he goes to 154 and gets "really strong"?

I don't know if Cotto can or would make 140 for £5mil for even if there is £5mil in that fight for Cotto?

Because if he stays at 147 he'll get his ass handed to him, even if he fights a fringe contender

At 140 with a couple of easy wins he can fool people into thinking that a fight in the UK would be somewhat competetive and worthwhile.

Thats pretty fair. Hatton is not top 5 welter material, maybe top 10. It makes sense to stay fighting at his weight of 140 and hope a rematch comes along in the meantime. If it doesn't then he's still champ at 140 and not just another fringe welter contender.

I was just using the words of the first poster.

There must be a couple of million in the fight for Cotto. If Hatton can get megabucks for a one sided fight against PBF then I do not see why Cotto can't make a few million.

So Cotto is ducking Hatton at 140?;) Tell him to quit making excuses, get his ass into gear and lose the weight.....
