If Hatton retired at 43-0, is his resume better than Calzaghe?

Are you serious? A win over Mayweather would make Hatton much much better than Calzaghe. This is strange coming from you, a big Mayweather fan

In all fairness Jones did have a few okish wins and even though it was just a worn out Jeff Lacy it was an impressive performance. He should have retired after this fight personally but he was already setting up a fight with Danny Green

Hopkins is easily Joe's best win despite it being a very close call (115-113 to Calzaghe on my card) Hopkins got Pavlik, Pascal twice and now Cloud only losing to Chad Dawson and didnt go down easy either breaking the oldest champion record twice at 46 and 48

Kessler came back to win the WBA belt vs Sartison and Haussler by knockout, lost to Andre Ward controversially on account of the headbutts, Reclaimed the WBC vs Froch and vacated due to injury only to come back again to beat Magee for the WBA and is now fighting Froch again for the IBF

Eubank went onto give WBO Cruiserweight Thompson hell and dropped him in the 4th only to lose a close decision and a corner stoppage due to swelling in the rematch

Lacy was just ruined after his fight after feeding into his own hype and his shoulder injury (although you could argue he knocked Jermain Taylor down)

Reid and Starrie went onto unfortunately "lose" to Sven Ottke (The Biggest **** stain in modern boxing)

Manfredo had a pretty decent run back down at middleweight until putting up a brave effort vs Chavez jr

Bika went onto win the contender with wins over Cordington and Soliman before putting good efforts against Bute and Ward and is mandatory for the WBC

In all honesty Calzaghes wins are pretty good

I agree that a Mayweather would make him a bigger global star, but I just don't think Hatton has enough to beat Calzaghe in terms of resume

Calzaghe beat some nice greats. His resume is pretty stacked no matter what you say of it.

Hatton's is very thin. Too thin. A Mayweather win would boost him up A LOT but it just falls a TAD short of Calzaghe's.

Beating mayweather changes everything. But Ricky didnt bear mayweather; he gt knocked out...

Both of their cvs would look better without fr@nk.

Calzaghe had the most carefully guided career in British boxing history, say what you want about Hatton but at least he actually challenged himself by going Stateside and fighting the top guys in his division in their primes instead of hiding in the UK until they all got old like Joe.

The fact that Hatton even fought Floyd and Manny when they were on top of their games shows he had more bottle and desire to be the best then Joe ever did and for that I commend him.

Calzaghe. A resume must be measured in part by who a fighter didn't fight.

A win over Floyd would have made Ricky p4p the best fighter on the planet.

Calzaghe could have beaten old man Jones and old man Hopkins 10 times over and he still wouldn't be considered p4p number1.

Rickys level of competition > Joes

Hatton was fighting in a stronger division and had superfights handed to him but u can only gove a guy so much credit forfights which essentially ended in two ko losses.

If you knew anything you'd know that in the late 90s the super middleweight division was where it was at,RJJ was top dog and Joe quivered with fear every time someone mentioned a unification bout between the two.I believe Jones would have fought him in the UK aswell he was that confident at the time.Instead Calslappy waited another 10 years to fight him. Why?
