.....would his game improve? Imagine if Hatton had 6 solid months of training with Roger, with his work ethic and discipline, he could be P4P #1! Or maybe I need to get more sleep.....:blood
hahaha I think we all should be getting more sleep. But such is the addiction that is ESB sometimes. As for Roger Mayweather... don't know if I would have roger train Hatton simply because roger generally doesn't train fighters with that style. However, i do agree that it would improve his game. Just being around a Mayweather would be like being around a library of "members only" boxing information. No family has been there and done that like the mayweathers and that would really improve his overall preperation. But as far as styles that would likely not be a good combination for reason's previously stated. I think that moving to Floyd Sr. has hurt Oscar more then it has helped him (especially in his first few fights with Floyd Sr.). I though he looked much better under Roach. I would like to see Hatton under mexican guy like Nacho Barastein.
Mayweather's style is all wrong for Hatton. All three brothers Roger, Jeff and Floyd Sr have the same style with minor differences. The high shoulder defence, benting at the waist, picking off shots out in front. Roger is more of a attacker, Sr is more defensive, Jeff a body attacker. Sometimes a good/great trainer can hook up with a fighter and its not a match. One of the worst matches that I can think of in recent years was Steward and hamed. Steward fukked Hamed all up. On the other hand I think that Steward could have turned Vernon Forrest into an ATG.
Any trainer except Buddy Mcgirt knows that changing fighter with established style is a big mistake. Hatton as a fighter has nothing in himself except aggressiveness and that what brought him to the top. Teach him some moves, improve his defence and you will take the best of him away.
Hatton used to be a much better boxer than he is now, he smothers his own punches now. Roger Mayweather could possibly teach him more skills whilst maintaining the pressure and aggression.
Six months of solid training? I believe you really need more sleep. :yep Six months of training means . . . burn out. :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl
I know this is slightly off topic, but I love to watch Roger as he cracks me the **** up!! I would give almost anything to have heard what he said when Ricky ran into the turnbuckle. lol.
