I already said any version of Hatton would lose to this version of Pacquiao anyway, but Hatton's not the same fighter he used to be regardless.

You really think so? I've followed both guys pretty closely for a few years now and I don't see what makes Pac Man such a massive favourite... That version of DeLaHoya was no Ricky Hatton, nor is ANY version of David Diaz. I fact, I think the edge should go to Hatton, an elite fighter in his own right, simply because 140 is HIS territory, no question.

Hatton is a natural 140 and has NEVER looked vulnerable at that weight. He showed against Tszyu that he has the whiskers to withstand serious firepower, and if he chooses to walk someone down the result is ****ing scary. We all know that Pacquiao can be lured into a war, and we all know that he can be stopped... Ricky has superior firepower at 140 and will try to drag this fight into the trenches. Manny will be too game to back down...

Definately an upset, IMV. This is boxing. Hatton has some percieved, unconfirmed advantages, but Pacquiao has all the right advantages for this particular sport. If Hatton was unbreakable it might be a different story.

I'm surprised Manny is the favorite.

Yep... You just have to scan this thread or others like it. The primary basis people have been giving for a Hatton win is; Manny has never fought at this weight, and Hatton will be the bigger man. Pretty thin.

Not nearly the kind of upset the odds would make it out to be. I wouldn't make this fight anything more than -150/ +130 in favor of Manny. -255 is way out of whack.

Elaborate on that, enzo. Why are you surprised Pacquiao is the favorite?

Second. TabSportsbet has ridiculous odds on Manny/Hatton. It's too good not to bet on.

because a year ago pac was still a 130 fighter and talking about a Hatton match up was treason! total mismatch!

although i'm favoring pac to win i know it won't be a walk in the park like some people are saying.

Fair enough, but isn't that the nature of things? That's life. **** happens, things change. Alot has happened since then. We may have a reasonably even divide here on the forum, but if we didn't have some of the nationalists weighing in, it would be a landslide in favor of Pacquiao - and it's still almost 70-30 in favor of Manny on certain polls. Far more "neutral" fans are picking Pacquiao. Far more. And let's not forget that 17 of 20 boxing insiders have picked Pacquiao, including an overwhelming number of British boxing insiders, not to mention the oddsmakers.
