hmm says... it'll be the biggest win / mark in his career, but as far as his "legacy"... I dunno if he's considered an ATG.
hes already an ATG, but he beats the best boxer in the world and is probably the best 140 boxer ever!!
If Ricky emerges victorious, it means he has beaten one of the best current P4P fighters in the world who is in his prime! I think there are some people who could exaggerate in respect of what a victory does for Ricky's legacy. No doubt though, a win does enhance his legacy!
Whaaaaaaaat? Hatton has never beaten a great fighter, was given a gift against light-punching Collazo and Pac is naturally 10-14 pounds lighter. This is a ridiculous post.
It will be a good win but not enough to really catapult him in anyone's eyes other than his nuthuggers. Ricky has only one impressive win in my eyes and that's the one against Tzyu. The fact that he was so unsuccesfull at 147 really hurts his rep IMO it just proves that he relies more on size than on skill.
A lot. He will have fought 3 very good fighters; Tsyzu, Mayweather, and Pac. So if he wins he's 2-1 at the highest level. Hatton does make the fights happen that we want to see + he always comes to fight.
DLH beat 2 ATG's in Chavez and Whitikar and gets absolutly no credit for those wins. The circumstances of the win matter just as much to fans as the name across the ring from you. Against Tzyu many (not me) believe that Tzyu was shot and many others believe that the biased ref'ing had an effect on the outcome. Against Manny the size will be a huge factor in determning how great the win is.
Yes, well it would do a lot for his legacy in my point of view. If others choose to think differently so be it.
