If Haye beats Barrett convincingly Saturday night, does he deserve a P4P top 10 spot?

I may well be wrong but I seem to remember he was in the top 10 P4P before the Lockett fight, I also think Hatton got dropped from the list before that fight as well...:huh

Well, boxrec had Pavlik as #1 for a while and I got a kick out of it. Never took it seriously. P4P is not very useful. Why compare fighters in different weigh classes. Heavies aren't going to fight like lights so how do you do a reasonable comparison? Hell, we can't get fights between guys that SHOULD be facing each other in their respective weight classes, why worry about cross division matches?

This is Paul Williams first week in the list (at least for a while), his last fight was against the mighty Andy Kolle 17-2.

Hatton got dropped around the same time - if it wasn't the same week it was around then. Hatton got dropped soon after the Lazcano fight (it wasn't immediately either) which was on the 24th/5, Pavlik fought Locket on the 7/6.

    I could be wrong, myself.

Anyway, Paul Williams is another example, look at his last win...

So where does the current P4P no1 stand, his next fights at 147.

So why wasn't he in the Top 10 P4P? As a heavy, surely he should at least maintain that ranking until he's fought there and maintain his position with a win over Barrett?

IIRC (big "if"!!) Pavlik and Taylor were 6th and 7th after their first fight and then Taylor got dropped from the Top 10 after the second fight.

You could well be right, I'm willing to stand corrected. I'm by no means 100pc sure.

This Ring list is from the 4th of Feb a couple of weeks before the second Taylor fight (it's the best I could did out for the mo') - no sign of Kelly there.

    No problem.

He was a lowly no 9 at the beginning of April (I've just noticed). He may have dropped off though, then reappeared in June after his win.
