Made me laugh! Please don't tar all of us with the same brush though...some of us are genuinely subjective fight fans. Unfortunately the groupies are the ones who outpost us and drown this forum in blind idolisation.

I'm not saying he would beat either Klitschko. I'm just saying that he deserves to be moved ahead of Vitali if he beats Valuev. Valuev has lost once in over 50 fights against decent competition like Ruiz, McCline, Holyfield, and Sergei Lychavik. What have Arreola, Gomez, and Peter done?

No. Haye has done little a a heavy, and beating Valuev would be his only big win. If Haye wins here, I'd move him up to #3 or #4.

I'm not sure if Valuev beats Peter, Gomez, or Arreola. In fact I'm not sure if Haye would be any better than 50/50 vs Peter, Gomez or Arreola.

Haye's got a chin of a light heavyweight. As soon as a real contender lands something on him, it will be game over.

The 3 guys Vitali has fought since coming out of retirement are better tham McCline,Lyachovik, and at this point in time Ruiz.

    Sam Peter(Had Vlad in serious trouble,beat McCline,Maskaev,Toney x2,)
JC Gomez(Only had one loss in 45 fights coming in,and that was a freak loss to Yanqui Diaz, who isnt in his league.Former dominant cruiserweight champ, beat McCall,Virchis, and Sam who wasnt bad)
Arreola(Also beat McCline, undefeated, big knockout record, considered the best up and coming heavyweight out there).

Thats only of course if we ingnore his wins pre-retirement.

Beating Valuev is not an accomplishment. It's a requirement.

To any boxing fan with half a brain, Valuev has already been clearly beaten by Ruiz, Chagaev, Holyfield and Donald.

    What??
Sam Peter and Arreola BOTH beat McCline,so the rules him out.
Lyakhhovich was knocked out by Shannon Briggs and some guy called Maurice Harris.Only decent fighter he ever beat was Brewster.

Gomez had just as good a cruiser weight record as Haye.He moved up and fought and beat a number of fringe heavyweight contenders.

Ruiz has been beaten 7 times now, even if one or two of them were iffy.

So can you actually back up your statement with anything other than "no they aren't"?

Oh, for Christ's sake. Listen, in boxing you are only as good as your last fight. And if we go by Valuev's last fight, the man is not even a top ten, no, top 15 heavyweight. He lost to a 46 year old Evander Holyfield. We all know that. If Haye can't beat the bum Valuev then he should retire straight away.

We also know that Valuev has been running from the Klitschkos for years. He was offered a fight against Wlad and he turned it down faster than you can say "oversized coward."

If Haye does beat Valuev, it makes him maybe the 6 rated heavyweight in the world, which is exactly where Valuev is in most rakings after the K brothers, Povetkin, Chambers, and Chagaev. That's it and that's all.

    Yeah, I agree.

I think Haye's ranking should be moved up just for agreeing to fight Valuev.

I had him at number 1 for a while when he was going to fight Wlad.

After he chickened out and faked the injury, he dropped out of the top ten.

Then, when he agreed to fight Vitali, I moved him back to number 1.

He chickened out again and I ranked him 33.

Then, he signed to fight the giant. And I rank him back at number 1.

    ****ing idiot !

Haye wouldn't even get past Arreola.

He's over-rated as it is, based on absolutely nothing.

    Agreed,

A win over Valuev doesn't do much for anyone at this stage in the game, and in order for it to mean anything for Haye, he's going to have to win very impressively. Taking a close decision won't prove ****. I also concur that Povetkin, Chambers and Chagaev are more proven at heavyweight than either Haye or Valuev, and deserve to be rated higher than both....
