    Not a chance.

    Hatton is Britain's most popular fighter ever, beating Frank Bruno into 2nd place.

    Most people don't even know who David Haye is, to be perfectly honest, and beating Klitschko (who again hardly anybody knows) isn't going to make that much difference.

    He slots pretty comfortably into 3rd place in the popularity stakes behind Hatton and Amir Khan..... but is a distant third!

    A victory in this fight would bring him much closer, but plenty of work would still need to be done IMO.

    You would think so, but the heavyweight division is so far removed from the average sports fan that the reaction would be difficult to gauge.

    If he beat Wlad and Vitali and made it clear that he was the man, then yes.

    Hatton is a bit of a phenomenon so I doubt it. He is in a different league of popular.

    Boxers my Mum has heard of;
    Ali, Tyson, Lewis, Hatton.

    Hmm, interesting question.

    It's possible. I'd tend to say probably not but the win and a big amount of media fuss afterwards would certainly put him well on the way to that sort of profile.

    It is a pretty big deal yes, but it isn't the UNDISPUTED crown - Bruno was made a fuss of because of his personality.... Lewis was only really big once he unified the title by beating Holyfield - who was pretty well known here for being the guy that was beaten by the guy that ducked Lewis, together with losing half his ear to Mike Tyson.

    If Haye beats Klitschko, he still only has one title, he would need to beat Vitali (not a chance IMO) and find a way of getting a shot at the WBA whilst being able to keep ahold of his other title...... we all know how the IBF like stripping people!

    No, absolutely not. All those pissed up blokes you see cheering Hatton on aren't people who follow boxing anyway, they're football fans. They don't know who Haye is, they don't know who the Klitschko'sare, they didn't know who Mayweather was and they didn't know who Pacquiao was until they saw the fight announced on sky sports news.

    You would assume wrong. Haye is barely on the radar and Hatton is huge over here. Even if Haye wins big and Hatton gets knocked out it won't affect the pecking order. There's something most people don't understand about the British mentality, we don't jump on and off bandwagons constantly like other countries, Lennox Lewis was never even close to as popular as Frank Bruno here, despite how much he won and how often Frank lost.

    No, I didn't say it did automatically make you anything but most of the people around you are pissed up football fans, that is Hatton's following and you know it. You know perfectly well the the principle reason behind Hatton's meteoric rise in popularity from day one was the fact that he filled the MEN with man city fans.

    By the way, only tossers write 'fail' at the beginning of a post. If you're that inarticulate that you need little americanised buzzwords to put your opinion accross then you shouldn't be allowed access to a keyboard, or a pencil for that matter.
