No I don't think Haye should drop him. Booth is a very good trainer, and they share a strong, established bond. Last Saturday showed us Wladimir was just too good for Haye, that's all.

I don't see the loss as being Booth's fault in any way, tbh and would struggle to see how another trainer could have really made a difference. I believe (in lieu of Mr Adamek proving me wrong) that Haye still comfortably beats any Heavyweight not called Klit - Booth is the right person to help confirm this should Haye fight on.

A good point raised in the original question - amazing how quickly people jumped on the Dark Lord bandwagon after Groves beat DeGale - and amazing how silent this has become after a loss to someone who will probably go down as THE Heavyweight of the post-Lewis generation / era.

He just needs to add to adam proof to me he doesn't act like a real trainer, I think we a real trainer he could come back strong.

What do you mean by that? In particular what things didn't Booth do that others would have done?

Freddie Roach & Tommy Brooks would be better for Haye.

However, Booth is his best friend, so i doubt he leaves him.

I don't think he will, unless the huge downfall at Hamburg has left him totally dejected and out of love with boxing. Groves needs Booth, as the trainer has shaped his whole pro career so far - having to suddenly switch to another trainer and possibly a resulting new style would be a big, big risk to his momentum.

I actually think thats what will happen. Haye will fight on and Booth will leave him.

Booth did a pretty good job with Haye. He got Haye to reach the final bell which is some achievement!

No-one could have done any better job at preaparing Haye. You can't make a silk purse out of sows ear!

Why? He did well not getting KTFO as we all expected and was competitive up until the 5th round. Booth must have done something right. Haye just needs to bring someone else in to help come up with a better offensive game plan should he go on to another Klit fight.

I think he has about 3 years left before his main attribute (speed) starts to go. I wouldn't be surprised if Booth doesn't want to do it anymore and he send Haye off to search for a new trainer.

Too old to change trainer now. I'm confident he could beat most contenders, against Wlad he'd need to work on his inside game.....
