I wasn't in any way attempting to detract from Booth's achievements. He has done a fantastic job with Haye and Groves and I think he is a very accomplished strategist. If he retires with Haye then boxing will have lost a very exciting and talented trainer.

However, even taking into account Wlad's size advantages and the problems posed by Haye's toe, I feel the tactics were flawed. I think the speed and frequency of Klitschko's jab was unaccounted for and there seemed a lack of a "plan B" when the original gameplan wasn't working. I think it is obvious, given the nature of Haye's pre-fight talk and the promise to come out swinging, that their tactic all along was to draw Wlad out of his shell, surprise him by playing defensive and try and counter-punch him into a knockout.

I agree that Haye (with Booth in his corner) will probably beat, and beat easily, everyone except the Klitschko's in the HW division. There seems to be several tiers in ability with the Klitschko's firmly at the top, followed by Haye (possibly Adamek) and then everyone else will simply be cannon fodder for the three/four aforementioned.

I think for David to seriously launch an assault on the top he will have to change his gameplan and try to work inside. Maybe Booth is the man to do this, but I would be interested to see what a Roach etc would do for him. It would also be funny to see him coached by the Mayweathers. You think the trash talk is bad now....!

Come on now. Genius is a little much.

When a fighter trains under Roach or Steward, you notice the improvement. The question is—has Haye shown steady improvement under Booth?

Haye needs some inside game other than rabbit punches.
    He's a complete novice there.

For those asking about Groves, Booth is carrying on training him regardless of wether Haye carrys on or not, Booth is not retiring as a trainer, will just focus his attention on Groves once Haye is gone.

I think Booth is a good fit. They just need to put Haye in with a guy like Eddie Chambers who will be blasted out, and then maybe with a tall Euro fighter like that lumbering zombie that Chambers beat where Haye can try to utilze a more aggressive gameplan that he can put in place to use against Wlad.
