So wht's the general consensus ? are fans expecting Haye to pulverise Barrett in the first ?

Barrett was tkoed in the 7th rd (by W.Klitschko) but that was back in 2000..

in 2007 , Barrett was Tkoed in the 2nd round by Couser.
(but Barrett also won the rematch and ironically , Tkoed Couser in the 2nd round too )

So anyway , what do you think will happen ?
If Haye brutally KOs Barrett in the first...I guess his ****-talking will go up a notch...

I'm personally expecting Haye to TKO Barrett in the 3rd (or 5th round).

i'm no haye fan, but IMO barrett's a very legit HW for his first fight at the weight in some time (though don't know if he really needed to wait a year to "bulk up" 15 lbs). if he beats barret by UD, it's a good start unless barrett looks **** and haye lackluster.

Might be bit dissapointing, if he puts on a clinic then, when all said and done, he has beaten a decent contender on his first proper HW fight. which can't be knocked.

Even if he gets a KO, if he has to go life and death to get it then its not so good.

He has to win anyway he can, but winning impressively and demonstrating he is a class above Barrett is the main thing.

I'm not expecting an early KO. I think David will come out cautious the first few rounds and box Monte. Once David settles in, I think he'll let the knockout come to him in a sense and take Barrett out in the 6th or 7th. If he decisions him, just as well. It would be good for David to go 12 rounds at the new weight. He'll weigh probably 220-225 on fight night, so 12 rounds will be good to see how he carries the weight around the ring. A win is a win, he's just getting his feet wet tonite at Heavyweight anyway.

Hmm Just cant picture a decision win, I dont think its Haye game plan nore Barretts. Barretts is gona come swinging, he'll know all about Haye aparent weakness and he'll be gunning for his chin, this will leave him open to counters and Haye is a massive puncher who'll def carry his power up imo.

I see a stoppage victory in Hayes favour, but itd definately be a stoppage even if he were to lose.

Haye decision win wouldnt be a disaster but we get enough decision wins from the Russians, we want Haye because we want KOs, simple as that!

To back up the talk and remain on track, I believe he has to knock Barrett out within 5 rounds. He also has to do it impressively, i.e not take a lot of flush punches, outbox him for the 4/5 rounds leading up to the KO.

It's entirely dependent on how Haye does. If he drops more than 3 rounds to Barrett it could be considered a set back. If he wins a big decision then all is well.

Yes. When Haye KOs Barrett, he will be thrust into the top ten.
