David Haye is just too fast, both of body and mind.

"These guys know what he's going to do, and they still can't do anything about it"

Forget the Ruiz fight, thats the most out of shape......."David Haye will ever be inside of the ring"

And he has learnt his lesson....

Like how Pascal and Harrison were going to beat Hopkins and Haye, :patsch. I know you're a troll, you can be pretty funny at times but I'm bored of it now. Just thought I'd let you know

I could see him knocking on the door of the top 5 in post Louis 1950s. . There were a fair few average fighters who cracked the top 10 back then, Jackson, Cockell etc before Liston, Paterson, Clay, Williams etc came along.

The post Ali generation got a lot of stick at the time but looking back it was a better era than todays contenders I think theres too much (relative!!) strength in depth in that era for Haye to make the top 5. Holmes, Dokes, Weaver, Thomas, Witherspoon, Tubbs were all stilled operators when properly motivated.

The obvious time to choose is the slump after Dempsey and Tunney and also the turn of the century when Jeffries had retired and Burns was touring the globe fighting a mixed bunch of contenders.

Sound I'm a troll fantastic. :patsch

The Bottom line is, David Haye is the best heavyweight in the world.

He will never lose a fight under the marquess of queens bury rules. He's to talented physically, and him and Adam Booth are on a totally different level in terms of preparation for a fight.

    :patsch

You like this fella don't yeh...:patsch

:patsch:patsch:patsch:patsch:patsch What made you change your mind from before the Harrison fight then when you told everyone that he would lose 'under the marquess of queens bury rules'? His electrifying performance that night?

yeah but even corrie sanders had to hit wlad a bunch to finish him off.

haye is no corrie sanders, and if he does hurt wlad, wlad will grab him and hold till hes recovered, then drop the right hand and BOOM haye is out cold.

haye has the speed and timing to counter anything wlad throws.

hes come up from fast punching cruisers,to slow but hard punching heavies,he can see everything they throw a lot quicker and before they throw or land, and they cant see his punches coming so well.

wlad doesnt pressure like a ruiz,so haye doesnt have as much problems.

he can make wlad chase, miss and counter wlad.

he can get to the angles and land on wlad, hit him with 2 -3 combo punches and move out of range at will.

he can paw wlads jab, stop him working off the jab, give faints and movement and hit before getting hit himself.

he shown he can fight in a clinch when he fought valuev.

he showed he can get out of/stop people clinching him.

he showed he can hurt the giant valuev, and punch upwards still with power.

wlad will become nervous and awkard with hayes speed movement and power, this will make wlad not do anything,or make rash mistakes. and will tire him out with so much nervous energy and inefective tactics to what he usually is able to do with most guys.

haye can turn defence into attack and get out of range as quick as he moves into range for an attack.

Gaz, I agree wholeheartedly about the division post-Ali. Everything up until post-Lewis and Haye is struggling IMO.

The Burns era; yes, Haye could make waves there no doubt.

    Good response :good

Haye isn't even top 5 in this era

    Wlad,vitali,adamek,arreolla,chambers,povetkin,boytsov,Johnson,Briggs,chagaev,Ustinov,helenius,tua.

Haye is below all of them in the reality rankings and loses to all of them

Until Haye fights a live opponent at Heavyweight it's impossible to say. Hopefully his next fight is against Povetkin, as this will tell us if he's competitive at the weight.

Nothing can be taken from beating Valuev, Ruiz, Harrison etc.

I do feel that Haye has the power to hurt Wlad, it's just getting close enough to land anything meaningfull. Firstly he has that great jab to keep the distance and secondly because of the size advantage he only needs to take a step back and he is way out of range.

If you can close the distance then I think anyone has a chance against him, but it's easier said than done. I think to beat him you have to take risks to get inside, thats why I would give Chisora a chance (not a great one) because he will take a chance. I'm not convince that Haye would do the same.
