U may be right about Americans hating on Haye, but I would venture to say much of it stems from the over the top hyping done by his loyal British followersÂ…
Seems to be a pattern here.
If he was american, there wouls be no calls of ATG at this relatively early stage of his career.

Maybe. I like him as a fighter and a character in the heavyweight division. I knew he would kill ruiz. He isn't built to have a good shot at beating the klitzchos. He would have a chance with Wlad because haye has the fast looping shot in his arsonal that could catch Wlad at some time. But getting past Wlads Jab and straight right is tough to do. THat jab stops you dead in your tracks and the straight right knocks you completely off the tracks. Still Haye would have a chance of landing a lucky shot while moving away from Wlad.

Haye would have no shot against vitali. Vitali would knock him out brutally and there is no stategy I could see hay using that vitali wouldn't slaughter. Vitali with the goofy in and out waist movement throwing shots and getting out the way just by moving his torso. He's too long and even if Haye got his best shots in I think Vitali would just eat em like nothing. His Chin is a something else. He would give haye a sad beating until it was stopped.

I think all real boxing fans like what Haye brings to boxing, Even the ones who don't like the outside the ring **** talking. If he was american then he would be the next big thing. He has cofidence, comedy, and commercial appeal. He would definately be a star here in the states.

And if the Klitschko's were American, they would be more popular there too.
But does it really matter what anyone thinks?

Damn right. Fighters with lesser achievements were being hyped out of proportion before they lost. I'm thinking of guys like Lacy in particular.

I agree with you on that. Americans would support Haye a lot more if he were American. I don't think that just b/c someone is a brit that people want them to loose. That's a bit much. It's just like brits not supporting an American over their own. I for one like David....and I root for him. And i'm american. I don't believe he's better than Wald or Vit at the moment but he's getting better which indicates his upside is limitless. That boy has talent and in a very weak HW era I think David could be showing us that the HW division could be improving.

What has David Haye actually achieved at heavyweight? He's beaten Monte Barrett,Valuev and John Ruiz.Valuev got a gift against beyond shot Evander Holyfield and Ruiz had a couple of wrestling matches with a shot Holyfield, too. Those are Haye's best victories at heavyweight. If he fights and defeats more credible heavies,he might get more respect and support. But considering his mouth and what he has actually accomplished in the division,he's proved nothing in that division,so far.

Maybe by the networks to sell the fight, but I'd NEVER heard of Lacey before the Calzaghe fight. And neither had any of my fight fan friends. And that's the only reason I even paid attention to that one, because at that time I was on for Calzaghe.Looking back, whose resume at that respective point in their careers was better-Lacey's before Calzaghe or Haye's?Haye was stopped by Carl Thompson at cruiser, and has beaten Valuev,Barrett and Ruiz at heavy.Despite YOUR Haye hype, that's not particularly impressive.Lacey's best victory was whom-Robin Reid,perhaps(?)-not particularly impressive, either. The jury is still waaaay out on Haye until he actually beats someone worth mentioning.
