..what odds does everyone give for the proposed Haye-Maccarinelli bout to actually materialize? We've heard major rumblings about this fight some 4 months ago, but we all know Haye is moving up to HW soon. Would he delay that for a unification against Enzo for the undisputed title? Would Enzo sign to fight Haye? I'm guessing Macca has another fight in early/mid October, and they could get something signed for mid February-mid March...IF this fight can get made at all.
Enzo would hesitate to fight Haye, as he WOULD lose. Bu, it doesnt matter, Haye's last fight at cruiser will be against Mormeck guaranteed.
It isn't really an upset looking at the very close odds on offer -fullstop- Might be worth a punt on Mormeck -questionmark-
I think so. I really rate Mormeck, he's a very good--not great, but still A level--world champion. He is getting on a bit in years and ring wear now, and he's always had stamina issues, so this fight can really go either way.
Yes last I heard Haye wanted to finish at cruiser by winning the title and then moving up to Heavyweight.
Haye will undoubtedly move up to the more lucrative HW division after JMM. There's no point hanging around waiting for a fight with Enzo that he's all ready tried and failed to get. He's got all the confidence in the world and could make waves at HW.
Not yet, but its common knowledge David can't and will not hang around at CW after this fight for weight issues also.
Not sure Haye would make the weight anymore. He has wanted to leave for ages but says he has to have this fight because he can't waste everything he did at cruiser. On the flipside Haye is a warrior and might not be able to turn down a fight with the WBO and possibly IBF champion!
The seasoned champion Mormeck is the correct boxer to exploit Haye's garish defensive flaws. For example, have you noticed how Haye keeps his hands dropped even whilst getting pummeled on the ropes? For vivid reference, see the Fragomeni bout. Ultimately, I expect the technically-sound frenchman to emerge with a hard-fought unamimous victory.
His hand isn't dropped, he is in shoulder roll. He has also said he isn't happy with his reflexes at 200 because of the weight drain. Mormeck is not technically sound and he is hardly Floyd Mayweather to expose flaws.
Thanks mate. :good That's putting it mildly! Still, there is no better cruiserweight in the world right now for the first 8 rounds of a fight than JMM...with the possible exception of David Haye. This fight may well come down to conditioning, both guys have gassed out badly in the past.
I agree, Mormeck can start sensationally. This fight could end early, it could end late, Mormecks brawling may be Hayes undoing, Hayes boxing might be Mormecks undoing... ...anything could happen.
