I have nothing against David Haye. I think he is an exciting fighter and is what the sport needs...

...but If he does win, then what. All we have is a new heavyweight champion with no real competition, again. To everyone that claims Daivd, or any other boxer, can "save" a division surely you need more than one person to do this.

Are there any exciting match ups that you can think of if he does win?

For Haye, it would be the following: Povetkin, VK, Arreola, Solis, whoever the WBA champ is.

That was the claim. but he also said that he wanted to unify/clean-up the division within two years. To me, he can't do it in that timeframe. he needs to beat the two Klits, Povetkin (mandatory), Arreola (big punching yank) and the next young star (Solis, who holds a big am win over Haye) in my mind to have truly achieved his ambition, if he can achieve it.

the reason people want haye to win is because with his charismatic attitude and persona he COULD change it. It doesnt matter who he fights, because people love watching someone with charisma....Some will watch because of their hate towards him and want to see him get ko'd. Charismatic heavyweights have the ability to spark intrest in any fight their in. That is something the heavyweights are missing.

p.s. do not mention tony...that blob is a mess and you wouldnt be able to understand him if he was yelling the word charisma to your face

if haye wins we have a charismatic and marketable heavyweight champ. do you know how long its been since boxing had someone like that.

you need to broaden your horizons if you think its business as usual if hae wins.

We should support haye. If you are a true boxing fan you will. I dont know about you but I am sick of Wlad and these boring uncompetitive fights all you get is fat over-the-hill slobs and has-beens going in to survive youre fighting for one of the greatest titles in the world for **** sake atleast have a go. In my opinion a win for Haye is a win for boxing

if Haye were to beat Wlad, right off the bat there would be an interesting match up with the avenging brother, Vitali. If Arreola and Povetkin keeep winning, those fights would be interesting too. But lets not crown Haye the undisputed savior of heavyweight boxing just yet. Lets see how he reacts when Wlad hits him with that heavy jab a few times. Haye has looked good, and he's all fighter, but we still haven't seen him against someone as big and powerful , skilled and experienced as well as always prepared and conditioned as Wlad.

Apparently not all of you are aware of the cowardish contract terms put in by the klitschkos:

"The way the terms of the contract are set up, Haye could be fighting someone with the last name of Klitschko until 2010. As stated last night, if Haye defeats Klitschko, he would be forced to have an immediate rematch with Wladimir or fight older brother Vitali Klitschko, the current WBC heavyweight champion. If Haye wins the second Klitschko encounter, the third fight would be a rematch with Wladimir [if Haye fights Vitali second] and/or a rematch with Vitali." Source: boxing scene.

So you can stop fantasizing about possible opponents for Haye if he wins.
Contracts like these should be forbidden. It's just plain stupid and cowardish to force a fighter to rematch for possibly three times. Haye should be able to choose his opponents by himself after one rematch instead of fighting only klitschkos for 2 full years.

If Haye wins, then, he will demolish Vitali.

If haye wins then he has to fight Wlads older brother, and if he wins there then he has to fight Wladimir again.

    ****ing stupid klitschkos.
