Mismatches have been happening forever and they've not started with Haymon.

Wasn't Charlo vs K9 for the belt? So it's okay for GGG to fight someone who no one thinks has a chacne for a belt, but you criticize Charlo?

It is the same old story-follow the money. It is white collar enablers namely the Boxing organizations who reap in their "sanction fees",the TV Execs who are being paid by PBC to air these mismatches and could care less, the local Commissions who take their fees off the top and Haymon and Waddell & Reed, the investment firm who are "backing" this Haymon abomination.
Just as guilty are the supposed"Boxing journalists" and the "promoters" who front this nonsense and just keep quiet about these bouts which any 3 year could predict who is going to win.
It appears to be a giant conspiracy who are duping the public into believing that boxing is alive and well and free.
Well-it is free but always remember you get what you pay for.:dead

Haymon should be ashamed of himself for the Quillin Zerafa matchup. You can't hand pick unknown nobodies and put them in the ring with world class fighters. It's wrong.

Yeah I'm sure Zerafa and his hefty paycheck are complaining.

Great thread, I thought the exact same thing after seeing the Quillin-Zerafa KO.

i was disgusted when they let Karpency fight for another title
this guys has zero power and not beaten anyone

since "2010" these are his opponents records of his wins
so since 2010 Karpency has 6 wins

    3-7
    10-16-2
    23-21-2
    27-24-7
Chad Dawson 32-3 (2 wins in last 5 fights)
    23-26-2

just think, back in the day Hagler had to call for a govt investigation after 7 years of being ranked in the top 10 and over 30 fights in that span....
this guy has 2 shots already

Yup...dude really wrote a thesis to explain why mismatches are Mr. Haymon's fault. Like boxing has never had mismatches in its illustrious history...no, it all started with Mr. Haymon.

But hold on one MF minute...You get physically sick watching someone get a beat down? (That's pretty much what you're saying...doesn't matter if it's a mismatch or not, the sight of seeing someone beat down apparently bothers you). Did you regurgitate when Paul Williams lay face down on the canvas after a perfect left hand from Sergio? Or when Emmanuel D. Pacquiao wasn't moving after JMM laid him out? Those were not mismatches, were they? I would highly suggest that you stop watching boxing if that is the case. Not your sport, bro. Physically sick...really, El Sensitivo? :-(
That's Mr. Haymon's fault too, though.

I don't get physically sick when I see someone knocked out, I'm quite a fan of brutal matches as I'm sure most on here who know me a little could attest to, but there is a difference when two guys who are evenly matched or at least in the vicinity of being evenly matched face one another, and a big tough guy beats up a weakling who has no chance in hell, one is competitive prize fight and the other is just flat out bullying.

It would be the equivalent of a team of massive 6'3 muscled up 250lb football players facing a bunch skinny little 5'7 150lb nerds in the Super Bowl. Is that a better analogy for you that you can actually follow.

Continue defending this garbage and you'll find yourself witnessing a death in the ring all because Haymon, which is not a pleasant thing to see, its really haunting to see someone die or slip into a coma right before yours eyes all for the sake your entertainment, it could ultimately turn you off to the sport entirely.

Why are people acting like Haymon started mismatches, they have gone on through out history. This anti Haymon brigade is tiresome.

I don't have much sympathy for Zerafa. Boxers know the risks when they get in the ring.

Nobody forced him to take a fight he had no business taking.

They're only mismatches when it's Haymon fighters facing these guys for everyone else it's fine. The thread starter's hate filled agenda couldn't be any more apparent.

This isn't just a Haymon thing, all promoters are guilty of this. I agree in general with the premise, mismatches and vetting young guys on these absolute no hopers don't teach them anything and just gets a lot of good guys hurt badly.
