Christians to the lions? The ****?

Mismatches and brutal KOs are part of the sport. I don't like mismatches either, but they don't make me squeamish.

Yeah, I mean...it's really disgusting how Haymon put a motivated former lightweight titleholder in against a distracted, poorly trained meth head. And it's even more appalling that he pitted his star junior middleweight against an inactive opponent who had to boil down 50 pounds to make contracted weight...Just so that his charge could score an aesthetically pleasing KO.

Oh, wait...That wasn't Haymon who made those match-ups...Was it?

Mismatches happen across the board. Singling out one promoter or sanctioning body won't solve anything, because the rest of them will continue to put on mis-matches in order to build their fighters.

Funny thing is, many boxing deaths aren't due to a gulf in class, but are rather the result of fighters being more competitive than they should be, and then being given more chances than normally might be the case based on the fact that they have managed to remain in the fight.

What else would you all throwing a helpless opponents who has no chance into the ring with guys who they stand no chance against, and only serve to feed the bloodlust of the crowd because they want to see a savage KO and don't care who the opponent is?

Isn't this supposed to be a competitive sport? If that's your idea of sport you're probably a fan of big game hunting that pits helpless animals against old rich guys 200 feet away with high powered rifles.

At least guys like Arum and De La Hoya as rotten as they are don't make a weekly practice out of it. Haymon already has another victim lined up in

    They are humans not pitbulls.
You dont know if a pitbull truly wants to fight because he cant talk
If a boxer says he will fight then hey he chose to fight, he knows the danger

Isnt bringing guys in on short notice a relatively common occurrence for up and coming fighters?

The same people whining about the safety of the fighters are the same one's who complain about a good tactical, defensive fight. Its let no like other promoters haven't fed us plenty of mismatches. Thats just the way the sport is. Every match can't be #1 vs #2

Andrade is not and never has been managed by Haymon.

Also, considering that Andrade hasnt fought in about a year and a half, I dont even consider this that bad of a fight

Campillo wasn't a mismatch when he fought Kovalev and Beterbiev huh. But when he fights a 24 year old prospect then he's a total bum. Everybody wanted Canelo to take K9's title and that was cool but when Charlo takes it, and in good fashion, it's terrible fight huh. Quillin is an ass wipe for taking that fight but something good came from it because Jacobs is on deck and them maybe we can get one of them to fight GGG. Yeah Stevenson knocked out a bum he is the same caliber that Kovalev and triple G has been disposing of. PBC is appealing to the casual fans and all the fights they produced were very fan friendly. It's about building a base and getting noticed by the multitude of casual fans who buy the tickets to see that kind of action. Same thing GGG is doing. I know you dislike Haymon for whatever reason because BS spills from every post you write that deals with him or PBC. These other gents might feed into that bile but as for me, you can fold that shiit up and sit on it.

Campillo was definitely not a mismatch at the time against an unproven Kovalev, he was Kovalev's first big test, as far as the Beterbiev match, yeah I'd consider that a mismatch considering what Sergey had already done to him. Here's the catch with Stevenson He's The Lineal Light Heavyweight Champion and he chose to fight a bum, Mohammedi who was a terrible opponent as well was at least a forced mandatory for Sergey to keep his IBF title. And as far as GGG goes maybe if someone decent would man up and fight him he wouldn't have to fight the guys that he does......regardless most of GGG's opponents are quite a few levels above Bundrage, so that was a bad analogy

I think its because PBC is the new thing on the block that people are paying so much attention to it, but theres mismatches in every promotion.

Martin Murray recently fought 2 guys who wouldnt be in anyones top 100 at thew weight, maybe even top 200, yet its barely mentioned.

Billy Joe Saunders last fought a guy with a 17-27 record, and I didnt see anyone talking about how dangerous that was.

Because they're off TV, people dont talk about them, but they were faqr worse mismatches than anything that happened in the last week.

In defense of BJS and MM's weak opponents neither of those guys are known primarily as KO artists so they won't take as bad a beating.

    They're also considerably worse opponents.

Point is theres mismatches across the board.
No one is innocent of putting them on.
