There is a realistic possibility that Eubank Jr loses at the weekend...if so where does he go? Back to middle? BJS rematch?

Why would BJS need him? He's got bigger fish to fry. If he loses, he has to rebuild. Get another 2 or 3 fights against world-fringe level opponents then get back in the mix again at either super middle or middleweight.

This fight against Groves is huge. If he loses, it hurts his legacy big time. If he wins, he goes onto face Smith, then Benavidez, DeGale, and possibly get back down to middle and face the king there (Whoever that may be at that time)

Junior has got his (legitimate) excuse ready, which was the footage of him getting on the scales and telling the world he isn’t a supermiddle. If he does 12 rounds with Groves then he will get a lot of credit from me, win or lose (it will be a loss).

Massive fight because if he wins he will be considered the no1 fighter in Britain p4p and no2 in terms of star power.

He will be like AJ light, every fight will be instantly ppv worthy even against Molina's etc

Losses and he will need to rebuild. I don't think going 12 rounds against Groves is necessarily a great feat unless the fight ends up being razor close.

He will lose and I can see him fighting DeGale before the year is out.

LOL How does losing to BJS.....beating a 56 yo Abraham and beating Groves make you P4P number 1 in the UK?

    Seriously?

Who would be higher than him?

He would have 2 wins better than BJS has ever had, maybe we could put AJ at the top but many believe Heavyweights are not to be considered for p4p discussions.

I dont think a loss to Groves is massively damaging if its a UD, as I expect it could be.

If he gets knocked out or beaten badly and hurt, then this could set him back psychologically. Lets see whether he has his fathers chin, and we should find out in this fight, because Groves will counter him on the inside.

I will potentially give you Frampton, but none of the others have done anything to rank above a Groves win
Fury hasn't had a fight in over 2 years

The context of victory has to be taken into consideration.

CEJ's win over AA means nothing as AA was bordeline ancient.

AJ'S win over a 41yo inactive Wlad is far greater.

Also I rate BJS win over Lemieux as a better victory than that of AA and the fact that BJS beat CEJ trumps anything that CEJ has done.

Also Frampton has a better resume.

What exactly has Groves done to warrant such lofty status?

George Groves, to name just one.

I think if he does lose badly (KO) then moving back to middleweight would be the best but, but as another poster said, if Degale can get his belt back in the rematch against Truax then that fight would be a good piece of business for both parties, and potentially for Groves as well in a rematch with the winner of either.
