So said the great Julio Cesar Chavez himself to the Arizona Republic this morning. He also said that Pacquiao has no chance to beat the bigger De La Hoya unless "Oscar doesn't have hands."

Sour grapes, or legit statements? What does the Mexican fan base think about this fight? Is it split? What are your thoughts?

What do you think? What would you say if Pacquio sent out a message that he was going to TKO Christian Mijares for all the phillipine people? Bull **** man my wife works at a mexican radio station and after debating on this topic all the mexican people arent fooled by Oscar and they think this is a money scheme. Thank you JCC for pointing out the TRUTH!

I work at a restaurant in Vegas, everyone there knows about my passion of boxing, so everyone of my customers asks me boxing questions, etc.

Everyone of my Mexican customers is rooting for Pacquiao. All the Mexicans in the kitchen are rooting for Pac too.

Chavez Sr. is just bitter that DLH didn't fight his son instead so they would have some of the money.

Even Chavez SR knows not to throw in his son against DLH, way to risky and a bloodbath to watch. I think hed rather see Pac in a bloodbath than his son im pretty sure.

I kinda' figured they'd be rooting for Pac since they wanted DLH to fight Margarito, but instead chose to fight a smaller opponent whom has defeated mexican legends such as Morales and Barrera.. I think that's why they have come to appreciate Pac, especially with his style of fighting..

I can't argue with the man, what he says is probably true. Oscar's always been about the money and not so much mexican pride. And right now, Pacquiao gives Oscar the biggest payday out of the current active fighters in the sport.

That's not what he said recently, he mentioned his son as a better option and mentioned that he offered DLH to fight his son but DLH declined claiming Chavez Jr. is still not ready for a fight like that. Something Chavez Sr. disagreed with in the very same interview.

I think a fighter that continuously beats a country's fighters gets a great deal of dislike but at the same time a great deal of respect from the people of that country. In this case the respect should outweigh the dislike.
