Calzaghe is a great fighter, no doubt. And yes, I do think you guys are in for a rude awakening. I could care less what country a fighter is from. I think alot of Calzaghe fans are grossly underestimating Hopkins. I have read several posts claiming Hopkins is "shot" or "too old". "Joe wins 100 out of 100 times" "Calzaghe by wide UD" "Hopkins will foul out of the fight". I mean, come on man! Hopkins has seen it all. He has his masters degree in every facet of the sport. Calzaghe may indeed win but I seriously doubt it will be as easy as many of you think. Hopkins is 11-0 vs southpaws and based off his last 2 fights, I think he'll be 12-0.

Joe is going to rip Hopkins up well and truley. This is NOT prime Bernard Hopkins.

Calzaghe is going to rip him to bits.

    What?

Hopkins is not prime, if you are basing his win over Winky to be anything like what it will be like fighting Calzaghe and you think he is going to win it baffles me.

Answer me this if he couldnt push a guy in Winky who is a small MW aroundeasily, how is he going to push Calzaghe around?

    Calzaghe UD 12, :good

Understood. This is all opinion-based, and I accept yours.

    Good man.

    I agree!

I don't think he's shot, nor too old. If people want to complain if/when Joe beats a 43 year-old man, all I can say is Bernard had his chance when he was 36 and he didn't take that chance to fight. Shame it's gotta happen at 43.

Expecting a Joe win 100/100 is just silly. That's obvious exaggeration and I cannot take comments like that seriously. The most obvious conclusion, based on Joe's past, is indeed a wide UD. No surprises here. Hopkins himself said "I will cut him". To me, this says "I will headbutt him". Again, no surprises, based on Hopkins' past. He is famous for fighting dirty, especially when a fight isn't going his way.

And the obvious answer to Hops' 11-0 record of beating southpaws is this: Calzaghe is 44-0 against everyone he's faced.

Hopkins hasn't been "prime" in a long time. Was he in his prime for Tarver or Wright? How about Oscar or Taylor? Who says Hopkins is going to push Calzaghe around? I know I never did. Comical how you guys seem to think Calzaghe dwarfs Hopkins in size or something.

How can BHop throw a 100o punches back when he is trying to avoid a 1000 punches. BHOp does not have the fitness to match that work rate and Calzaghe throws fast pseudo rabbit punches in bunches.

BHop has no KO power against fighter his own size and only big hitters have troubled Calzaghe (Reid, Kessler, Eubanks and Mitchell).

Let's not forget also: Calzaghe LOVES a challenge. He also quite enjoys fighting dirty. :)

Calzaghe has this in the bag Im sure of it. But the only thing im worrying about is a flash knockout Hopkins could score at anytime.

Replace Calzaghes name with Hopkins and it still works. Curious to see how well Joe travels.

You mean fighting in America? I think the only problem might be a biased panel and/or ref. Assuming they are gonna play nice, I don't see a problem with the travel thing. It's hard to say, though. First time in the USA, but once again, challenge comes into play, and as he said himself, the bigger the challenge, the better he performs. He has a lot to prove and he knows it, and to win he's gotta make a great job of making a great mess of Bernard. If it's a close fight, I expect Joe to come off second best.
